The Los Angeles Times' Mike DiGiovanna reports that the Angels' offer to Adrian Beltre is for five years and around $70 million.
DiGiovanna adds that the Halos are not likely to increase the offer even though Beltre reportedly is wanting a six-year, $90 million contract. It's really hard to see him getting much more than what the Angels are dangling in front of him, even in this market. Beltre would be 37 in the last season of a five-year deal, so giving him an additional year would be awfully risky. The Angels are the odds-on favorite to land him at this point. According to MASN's Jen Royle, the Orioles' offer to Adam LaRoche is for three years and $16-18 million.
That should be enough to get it done, especially with the Nationals apparently focused on Derrek Lee. LaRoche made $4.5 million this past season with the Diamondbacks and saw his batting average and walks go down and strikeouts go up, but he also hit 25 homers for the third straight season and drove in a career-high 100 runs. Assuming he does sign, he should be able to have his usual slow first half and then rebound after the All-Star break to post solid numbers in Baltimore. Dec. 18 - 2:52 pm et

You actually think thats a 9 million dollar performance? Hideki Matsui had almost the same numbers for about 2.5 less. Beltre has to be one of the most over rated players in all of baseball.

Orioles offer Laroche 3 years 16-18m

I'd have rather they have got Dunn because man would our lineup be good with Hardy, Reynolds and Dunn, Jones, Markakis and even Roberts when he's healthy but Laroche if he accepts should be a nice revamp to our team Slowly rebuilding at least one side of our team lol we still have zero relief pitching and need 1-3 starters and a closer

Zack Greinke dealt to Brewers

Former Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke has been traded to the Milwaukee Brewers, sources told ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney on Sunday morning.

In the deal, the Royals are reportedly acquiring Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain, shortstop Alcides Escobar and pitching prospects Jake Odorizzi and Jeremy Jeffress for the 27-year-old Greinke, 10-14 with a 4.17 ERA in 2010 after winning the 2009 Cy Young.

Royals general manager Dayton Moore had been actively shopping for major league-ready, up-the-middle position players for Greinke.

The Brewers were expected to receive another major leaguer in the deal. Jim Breem of the blog "Bernie's Crew" reported that player to be shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt.

I suppose they could resign him given Greinke is highly unlikely to sign with a large market team. But ya, they gave up fa too much IMO.

agreed he wouldnt sign with new york or boston, but i could easily see him go to st louis or any another team in a much better position to be competitive

You're right, he is actually. Greinke is scheduled to make $13.5 mill per year in 2011 and 2012. He's not a free agent till 2013. The Brewers still gave up a lot though.
