Does anyone actually buy the season TV package anymore? I don't. Honestly, I probably watch one game a week tops outside of the playoffs anymore.

never bothered to get that as i get all Giants/A's games locally broadcasted, Braves games on TBS & even Cubs games on WGN i think it is... and thats not to even mention the ESPN and Sat afternoon fox games... depending on work schedule, i'll watch about 2-3 full games a week.... but i'll at least catch the ending of almost every Giants game, especially if Wilson is on the mound

We might be stopping if Fios doesn't get off their butts and give us HD... We had all the games HD with directTv

I'd have loved to get all the preseason games too but they don't do that either

NUTS I just started looking and it looks like STILL 1 HD channel for xtra innings!!! what a joke!

I just like watching games its great being able to lay in bed and watch the west games, and switch between the AL east games/ O's and Nats games.

I watch all the Dodger games on Prime Ticket. Never had the need for any kind of other packages. With the amount of time these MLB games take you'd have to be a serious MLB fanatic to want to take advantage of those types of packages.

No point for me since I can watch the Yankees games on YES, MY9 (for selected Yankee games are shown there), FOX and ESPN (for nationally televised Yankee games) take care of my Yankee fix. Not to mention the days I go to the stadium and sit in sec 203 with my bleacher creature brothers and sisters.

No, Braves game were cut back on TBS for many years to the point I don't think they show any of them anymore. Ted Turner hasn't owned the team for years now unfortunately. From the late 80's till mid to late-90's baseball was the sport I followed most closely. Since then I've lost a lot of my interest in it and stick more to NBA, NFL and college sports.

Probably on ESPN. I think some Braves games are also shown on Turner Sports South or some such channel that I don't get. Our coverage in Florida of Marlins and Rays games is pretty sorry too. Not that I really care since I'm not a fan of those teams.

The funny thing is that viewership of Rays games is very high in Florida.

That's what bugs me about MLB finances. It's rare that the public ever gets to find out exactly how much of a profit these teams are really making. I remember a year or so ago the Pittsburgh Pirates finances got leaked and the public found out there made something like $15 mill+ in profit per year. Wouldn't surprise me if teams like the Rays and Marlins actually turned a nice profit despite low payrolls. The MLB owners hate having their dirty little secrets go public since many of them just pocket the profits rather than spend it on the team.

Any thoughts on the Yankees signing Freddy Garcia ? Do you think he will be with the big club this season?

So now, they have Colon, Prior and Garcia all under minor league contracts ? Any chance of all 3 making the big club this season?

Well, i see Nova at 5th spot and possibly the others in other roles for more depth, no ? Like Ex: Mitre, Loogan, etc.. ?

Or if injuries occur.

i remember that story coming out.. it was more like $29+ mil the Pirates had made....

Quote:
Financial documents obtained by The Associated Press show that the Pittsburgh Pirates made nearly $29.4 million in 2007 and 2008, a number that likely won’t sit well with fans of a team that hasn’t seen the sunny side of .500 since the 1992 season.
The AP report also indicated that the Pirates received about $70 million from MLB sources, including revenue sharing, TV contracts, merchandise sales and MLB’s website

Feliciano will be a lefty specialist along with Logan since Marte is still injured.
