LOL! Such a fitting end to his career. Way to cement that legacy Manny. Probably failed another drug test and slinkered out of MLB for good. Guess who will never make the HOF?

Rays' Manny Ramirez to retire

Tampa Bay Rays designated hitter Manny Ramirez is retiring.

Major League Baseball announced the move in a statement on Friday.

"Major League Baseball recently notified Manny Ramirez of an issue under Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program," the statement said. "Rather than continue with the process under the Program, Ramirez has informed MLB that he is retiring as an active player. If Ramirez seeks reinstatement in the future, the process under the Drug Program will be completed. MLB will not have any further comment on this matter."

Manny Ramirez retires,Source: Manny tested positive for banned substance, would have been facing 100-game suspension had he not retired (or succeeded in appeal)

Yeah I never liked that useless Japanese player anyway, just upset that his injury thinned us out pretty badly in our infield.

Pavano has almost 50 pitches 3 innings in, why do we still have this useless tool on the team?

Don't forget Boston too. He more or less ended his career by quitting on Boston, LA, Chicago and Tampa. I don't recall how his stint in Cleveland ended but I'm guessing that ended badly too. Everywhere he's been he didn't just burn his bridges, he blew them up with TNT. I can't see this fool getting an ovation even 10 or 20 years from now returning to any of his old teams ballpark. He's completely toxic.

I give Lackey a second chance and he gives up six more runs. 15 runs in just under nine total innings. Lackey, your cut! Enter Zito!

As for Manny, he might of been a juicer, but he was a beast for the Red Sox and also alays good for a laugh every night. He also gave us the greatest double play of alltime when he high fived a fan before throwing the ball in to complete the double play.

Wow looks like the Bo Sox will get their first win of the season on the strength of their bats, currently 9-6 with 1 out and Papelbon on the mound.

Wow, you're now a Red Sox fan? Yankees on the brain should be a declared a medical condition (which you have).

True, Manny was a dope but he made the game more fun with his endless drama. Not many athletes are subject to a phrase liek "Manny being Manny."
