Far, far from resolved. The ruling in the wife's favor hasn't really done jack yet. Recently Frank McCourt tried to take a sizable loan from FOX giving up some limited TV rights. I think Selig stepped in and put a veto on that deal. So Frank's trying to make moves without her even though they both own the team. Or something to that effect, so expect more lawsuits, appeals, blah, blah. Whats interesting is that the Dodgers are said to be getting a huge sum of money from FOX now that the Lakers bolted from FOX and that Selig may reject that deal as well to try and force the McCourts out, which may result in a McCourt vs MLB trial. Fun times....

Hopefully tonight the Rangers can rebound after losing the last 2 against Detroit to beat those darn Yankees!

Don't hold your breath. Also, I hope they find those two douche bag Dodger fans who cowardly beat up that Giant fan.

Harrison looked pretty good his last 2 starts, so I'm hoping he can keep it going.

Investigators are said to be working around the clock. Brian Stow the victim is still in a medically induced coma.

I hope they find them, lock them up and throw away they so to show that behavior will not be tolerated in American sports.

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire indicated in a radio interview Friday that while he didn't know how long Joe Mauer (leg weakness) would be out, it would likely be more than 15 days.
No surprise there. The bilateral leg weakness that Mauer is dealing with is a bit of an unknown, so it's tough to predict at this point when he might return. Mauer will not see a specialist in Baltimore Friday due to a case of the flu. The hospital even checked for an appendicitis, but he apparently just has good old-fashioned influenza. He'll see the specialist at some point over the weekend, assuming he feels up to doing so.

Yup and with our bats off to a slow start and our best hitter with a mildly serious injury, it's going to be hard for the Twins to climb back into the race soon.

Oh you dopey Red Sox. You suck right now and think the answer is to waste even more money. Brilliant.

Adrian Gonzalez 7 year 154 million

Even using his best years as a Padre, where do they come up with 22 million annual worth?

Yankees placed RHP Phil Hughes on the 15-day disabled list with a dead arm.
Hughes' drop in velocity just simply wasn't allowing him to be the pitcher that we know, and the Yankees have decided to shut him down and hope he can rediscover the pep on his fastball. Lance Pendleton has been recalled to take his spot on the roster, but Pendleton will likely to used as the long man in the bullpen while Bartolo Colon slides into the rotation.

I still can't believe that deal. They're paying $22 mill for a guy with one .300 season in his career. If Gonzalez deserves $22 mill/year by my calculation Pujols is worth >$30 mill/year. Boston is just getting ridiculous these days.

They are just trying to make up for losing out on the Mark Teixera sweepstakes.

What is Boston's total salary this season? I'm just curious how many wins it translates to in their first 20 games.

Looked it up and this is what I found for highest payrolls with change from 2010 payroll. Philly and Boston are closing in fast on the Yankees in payroll. The Yankees payroll does seem to be stagnating somewhat since the younger Steinbrenners took over control.

http://moondogsports.com/2011/04/11/...team-payrolls/

1. NY Yankees $201.7 mill (-2.3%)
2. Philadelphia $173 mill (+21.9%)
3. Boston $161.4 mill (-0.8%)
4. LA Angels $139 mill (+32.4%)
5. Chi White Sox $129.3 mill (+19.4%)

Lowest:
30. Kansas City $36.1 mill (-50%)
29. Tampa Rays $41.9 mill (-41.7%)
28. San Diego $45.9 mill (+21.3%)
27. Pittsburgh $46.0 mill (+31.8%)
26. Cleveland $49.2 mill (-19.6%)

I didn't realize the Padres were so low on the list. I would love if the Royals could continue their success so far this season. They are a good franchise that deserves success for their fan base.
