If Yankee stadium (old & new) were only 45,000 they would be sellouts for years as well (the old place held about 56,000 and the new house holds 52,325 but I don't know if that counts standing room). With that said, at least CBB holds more than Fenway.

Ya, I think the tipping point is right around 45-50K even for large market MLB teams. Citizens is probably right around the biggest ballpark Philly could sell out. As for Fenway, ya it's a joke at about 37K capacity. Even selling out every game they are just 8th in avg attendance.

Ya, the days of 55,000 plus seat baseball stadiums are a thing of the past. As far as our attendance, it'll pick up as we draw closer the Memorial day weekend (if not before).

Now there's something you don't see everyday, Mo blowing a save (hey, no closer will go perfect for a whole season).

That must make you and every other Yanks fan feel good. How do you feel about the overall unfair playing field for the majority of the league. Certainly, beating teams with 1/3 your payroll can't mean much. Our starting rotation will earn around $3 million this year compared to your starter's $46 million. BTW, how do you like A.J. so far...million dollar arm and a 10 cent head. Glad he didn't resign here.

We finally get a win tonight. Get 2 runs and 4 hits off of Rivera in the 9th and win it 6-5 in the 10th.

Half full tonight, just over 25,000. The Jays are and always will be the "Leafs" little brother. The fans are sick and F**kin tired of the Jays going into places like Fenway and being outscored 21-3 in the final 3 games of a series (last weekend). If the press and fans got on this ballclub the way they do the Leafs, then they'd play with more urgency. The pressure on the Leafs is 24-7-365. Right now the Leafs are getting it in the media, worse than the Jays, and the Leaf season is over.
We have the 4th largest population in the Major Leagues (2.6 million people within the city limits & another 2.5 million people who are less than an hour drive to the ballpark), yet are considered a medium sized market. The market is HUGE...the TV deal isn't.

It's not the Yankees fault that other teams would rather not spend money and instead take the revenue sharing money and make a huge profit. The Yankees choose to reinvest their profits in their team each year and thanks to that are a contender every season. The Blue Jays could easily afford to spend $100 million+ per year on salary if they wanted but they have no interest in spending the money and that's why in today's baseball climate they won't get better than third in their division year after year. The Blue Jays have one of the richest corporate owners in all of sports but the owners are perfectly content having a bottom ten payroll and not contending for the playoffs each year.

Aren't the Blue Jays televised on their owner's network?

Yup, all 162 games in HD on Rogers Sportsnet. Also 46 Yankees games, 43 Mariners games, 40 Red Sox games, 33 Phillies games. Over 500 games overall.

It seems like the few times Mariano blows a save each year it happens early in the season and he becomes more dominant at the season wears on.

You left out the World Series ring. Even if he doesn't return to top form (he has looked good so far this year) He has at least helped us win a ring so I am happy we signed him.

No he didn't. He was terrible in the postseason in 2009. His postseason ERA with the Yankees is 5.67 with a 1-2 record.

Yeah but that win was during the World Series. And he pitched pretty good all year to get us there.
