Cubs win again, pushing their win streak to 6 games. Tony Campana had his first major league home run and it was ironically an inside the park home run, the first at Wrigley since 2001. Maybe the most impressive part of the streak is Carlos Marmol getting saves in 5 of the last 6 days after greatly struggling last month.

Speedy Jose Constanza, a recent call-up due to injuries for the Braves, has already robbed Jose Reyes of two extra base hits and hit an RBI triple against the Mets tonight, in the 3rd inning. I wish they had waved Constanza home on the triple (), but the next hitter sac'ed him in. Braves lead 2-1 after three innings, but Uggla's hit streak may be in jeopardy against the knuckleballer Dickey.

In the 8th inning, Dan Uggla lines a 2-RBI single into left field to extend his hit streak to 26 games and the Braves lead to 4-1!

Freddie Freeman also extended his hit streak to 19 games tonight with a pair of doubles.

After watching the replay recap on MLB Tonight I still don't know why that Giant pitcher plunked Victorino? Whoever that Giant catcher was, was certainly ready for a fight.

Honestly im still trying to figure out why Ramariz hit him too?? And it seemed pre-meditated as our catcher whiteside popped up like he was ready to fight! ... I dont blame victorino at all for charging the mound at all...

Whatever the reason was behind this i hope it wakes the Giants up, we've lost 7 of the last 8 games, and things arent looking good at all right now

It's very odd because it wasn't like Victorino stood there admiring his HR. I would be surprised if fines and/or suspensions follow. The Yankees and Phillies are the hottest teams right now in MLB (both have a 8 game winning streak).

Watching the dugout cam I will say it was hilarious watching all those Giant players come out of the clubhouse like military soldiers, one after the other.

lol, i'll have to check that out, i actually stopped watching the game in the 5th inning to go watch Cowboys & Aliens (which was so worth it ), so i missed the brawl ... One thing i'll say, its nice to see this Giants/Phillies rivalry finally going to the next level.. Can you imagine if they meet in the playoffs again

So i found out why Ramon Ramirez threw at Victorino... Philllies up 8-2, Rollins steals a base which rubbed a few Giants the wrong way, next pitch Ramirez throws at him. Honestly i dont care about our backup catcher and 4th releiver getting suspended... Im actually happy about whiteside not being in the lineup ... I can see Shane Victorino getting the longest suspesion as he tried to get back in the fight a few times, pushing umps and coaches while doing so...

Report: Players warned over deer spray

MLB players have been issued a warning over the use of deer-antler spray, a substance administered under the tongue that includes a banned chemical known for its muscle-building and fat-cutting effects, SI.com has reported.

Players had felt free to use the spray at nearly no risk until the warning was sent last week by the league, the report said.

In its warning, issued in reaction to reports from the drug-testing industry, MLB requested players not use the spray because it contained "potentially contaminated nutritional supplements" and had been added to the league's cautionary list of products.

Scientists found insulin-like growth factor, or IGF-1, in the velvet of immature deer antlers and players have been using it as an alternative to steroids, according to SI.com.

Brian Wilson should have unleashed the power of the beard. He would have squashed that brawl before it even began.

Funny story since you bring up Brian Wilson... My wife and i are going to a game soon, she knows very little about baseball, so shes goes, i'll go to the game, BUT only if Brian Wilson pitches... ... So i had to explain to her that hes a closer, and he will only come in the 9th inning if the Giants are up by at least 1-3 runs... Funny how somebody who knows little to nothing about baseball, yet she loves Brian Wilson

Oh ya, and she doesnt refer him to as Brian Wilson, but the Guy with the "cool beard"

I don't get it. CC had been on a roll prior to this start. I honestly don't feel he'll be getting the Cy young (Verlander is the front runner).
