They were talking about that possibility today on The Dan Patrick Show. I personally don't think LaRussa can do a commercial spoofing the mix up unless they win the series. If they lose a lot of Cardinals fans aren't going to find humor in the bullpen screw up and won't want to see their manager spoofing what happened.

It sounds like there's a good chance tonight's game will get rained out. There's rain in the forecast and MLB doesn't want to risk having a potential series-clinching game run long because of weather delays. There is no rain in the forecast for tomorrow or Friday nights, although temperatures will be cool so I would be surprised if they don't postpone tonight's game.

Yesterday was the 25th anniversary of the most unfair scapegoating in baseball history. To this day I cannot begin to comprehend how they could pretty much solely blame Buckner for the world series loss.

Lets look at some things.

- The score was 5-3 Red Sox heading into the bottom of the tenth. After two quick outs, Shiraldi gave up a run and then Stanley threw a wild pitch to tie the game up.
- Given Buckner's lack of mobility due to injury, Mookie was going to be safe even if he managed to field the ball as the pitcher was not covering. A run wouldn't have scored but who knows what would have happened next.
- Speaking of his lack of mobility, why didn't the manager sub in a replacement for defensive purposes like he did all series?
- The Red Sox were winning in game seven 3-0 heading into the bottom of the sixth.

When I first saw the play on television in the 90's, the way they set it up it's as if Buckner just had to field the ball to win the Series when that wasn't the case at all. The error cost them the game but to say it cost them the series? What a bunch of nonsense.

man...I took tomorrow off from work so I could riot and overturn cars in the streets of DFW and they cancel the game, guess I will have to settle for video poker at Buffalo Wild Wings
