Amazingly enough this will be the 10th World Series Game 7 for St. Louis. They're 6-3 all-time in Game 7's. Though one of those losses (1985) only happened thanks to them being hosed by one of the worst calls in MLB history.

It's also the first Game 7 since 2002. Nine years has to be among the longest droughts ever for a Game 7.

I picture game 7 being a tremendous blowout for the Cardinals, because of the let down from the Rangers.

Thinking like a 15-5 score.

Losing tonight would have been one thing. Losing the way they did?

One of those losses was to the Twins in '87. Which interestingly enough, Ron Washington played for until '86.

Know what it reminds me of? 1985 in reverse. In 1985 umpire Denkinger made that epic bad call at the end of Game 6 to rob the Cards of the WS clincher. It clearly got into the Cardinals heads and they collapsed in Game 7, losing 11-0. I could see the Cards wiping out Texas in Game 7 something like that.

What a game, though. I thought after Hamilton hit that shot to re-take the lead, that was going to be it, what with all of what he's been through this season – let alone in his career. I kind of felt like it was his time or something.

That said, I'm happy the Cards won, and that I got to experience it with my boys. We got to watch from about the fifth inning on or so, as we had a fall ball game for my older son. Perfect finish to the day to say the least. There was MAJOR chaos in my house from all the screaming and yelling from the lead changes!

Awesome!

I would hope LaRussa realizes its game 7 and starts Carpenter, hell even if its only for the first few innings

What a game...I need a new bottle of Tums.

Hope the Cards can win it...I'm a life-long Cardinals fan stuck in this Baseball-less zone called "Oregon".

I'd be surprised if he didn't, especially after the rainout, giving Carpenter an extra day's rest. Quite frankly I hope he starts and gets lit up. Would love to see Texas win their 1st title. GO RANGERS.

That was the best game I've ever seen......I am so proud to be part of Cardinal Nation! Tell you what, this has been the best world series I have ever seen, nothing less than spectacular.....between Pujols hitting 3 homers in one game, the GREAT pitching duals.....even the stupid errors. Honestly, I don't care anymore who wins, I just want to see more games like the first six.....who am I kidding, I want my home town team to win, GO CARDS....win #11 in '11!! Seriously though, win or loose, both teams have nothing to be ashamed of, its been awesome!!

I think I'm gonna be Lance Berkman for Halloween! I already have his jersey, just need a grey beard, a mullet, and black eye liner...... I think Berkman has been the most solid player for the team the entire season, especially the playoffs, but he hasn't gotten the credit he deserves...in my opinion....good thing we signed him for one more year, he's definately worth the $12m we signed him for!

Berkman gets overshadowed by the game's best hitter (and maybe best ever), Albert Pujols. I'd say that's about the extent of it, though, and I think he gets plenty of credit. My money is on him for Comeback Player of the Year, too. He's a great player and people know it.

What a treat it would be to hit behind Pujols. Not that Berkman needs any help or anything; but it certainly didn't hurt his numbers this season. I hope Berkman finishes his career as a Card and accrues some of the "ticket in" stats while here, like 500 home runs. He would be a lock for the Hall if he could get to 500 and maintain a .300 average. He won't get to 3,000 unless he's got more in the tank than I give him credit for having.

---

EDIT: Looks like he already won.

Especially here in STL, ALL we hear about is Pujols....will he be back, is this his last at bat...blah, blah, blah.....I'm tired of hearing about it....I could care less if he stays or goes....I will be disappointed if he goes, and that would be a huge hole in the Cards line up, but damn, I'm just tired of all the hype....in my opinion, he's had an EXCELLENT season by baseball standards, but he's had a mediorce season by Pujols standards.....

I think you are the first and only Cardinals fan that has something negative to say about Pujols! hahaha. I see what you're saying, though. At least with Albert, from what I know anyway, he's a stand-up guy. I really hope he stays with the Cardinals. I would not mind if he came to the A's or Giants, though.

The Cards are my "family's" team on my dad's side, as that part of my family is from that area of the country, so Cards are by association a team of mine. I kind of went my own way when I was old enough to decide which team I wanted to follow, much to the chagrin of my dad. I've been an A's/Giants fan for a little over 20 years now. It made sense to me as a kid to root for the local teams, so that's what I've been doing. It was way cool when in 2006 the Cardinals won it all, as my dad passed away right before the season started, and he was a DIE-HARD Redbirds fan. I mean, like, ridiculously fanatical. I like to think they won it for him that year.

hahaha.....I actually have nothing really "bad" to say about him...he is one of the greatest players, no one can argue that ever.....and he is a stand up guy.....he has done so much for the city of st. louis, its not even funny, he'll always be held up there with Stan the Man, I guess I just get tired of hearing about it on the news, the radio, the paper, EVERYWHERE, kind of like the damn rally squirrel!.....my only beef with the whole ordeal, is if he leaves, its only driven by money.....I mean damn, the cardinals offered him $200m for 8 years and he turned it down.....I can't even fathom turning down that much money.......so again, if he truely does care about st. louis like he claims to, why would money be that big of a factor? Mark McGwire when he played for us took a pay cut so the organization would have more money to get more talent.....one of the players they used that money for was Pujols.....Pujols has a resturant here, he has a few childrens organizations.....he has given so much to this city, its not even funny......could we afford to give him his $300m? Yeah, probably, would it be wise, in my opinion no.....but thats just me....whatever he decides to do, I wish him the best of luck!! I just hope that all he wants to do is test the free agency waters, see what he could get, then realize what he has here in STL (a city that LOVES him) and decide to stay......who cares how much money. thats my hope...=) A world series win would just top it off...

Oh, I know I said I could care less if he goes or stays, but I do care, I want him to stay, but only he can decide what to do....and by Pujols standards, he has had an off year, but by baseball standards, its still a year most would love to have.....even the sports experts claim the cards will use his "off" year to try and negotiate him down......I know my two posts might sound like contridictions, but I'm not trying to.....I'd love for him to stay, but if he doesn't, to me, it'll leave a black eye......=(

I'm still at awe from the game last night, I cant believe the last few innings.. I fear the air from the Rangers have been depleted and the Cards will win big tonight, I dont hate or like either team, but i'm pulling the Rangers since they lost last year and the Cards recently won a world series...

It just feels like it is destiny for the Cardinals to win the World Series. After all they have persevered over the last month or two, it would be a great story to see them win it tonight. It would be one of those comeback tales that makes sports so great, you know? Of course all that means nothing if Texas grinds out the win tonight.
