Ozzie Guillen's comments regarding Cuba and Castro were some of the dumbest made by a sports figure in some time. He basically praised a guy who is despised in Miami and alienated a big chunk of his team's fan base. The Marlins knew what they were getting when they hired Ozzie, but it's still surprising he said what he did.

Guillen is an imbecile. The huge Cuban population in Miami is because of Castro. Most of those people risked life and limb to escape this jerk (obviously everyone knows this.....except Ozzie). Ozzie's always bragging how he says things the way they are. Unfortunately for his ballclub & fanbase, his perception of the way things are, is normally wrong.

I watched the last 4 innings of this ballgame and he was Great. Don't know if you saw his basehit, but on the 12th pitch of his at bat he did it with a "girl's swing". Checkout the highlights if you didn't see it and how hard the guys in the dugout were laughing and cheering.

Yeah, up in Boston. In all seriousness, the season is only 3-4 games in people should get too high or too low. The season isn't a sprint, it's a marathon.

Well the Jays new closer sucks. He's now 0-2 in save opportunities.

I figured this team wouldn't be able to win the close ones against a good team and they'd get the Red Sox back on track.

Santos needs to relax and mix in his his changeup with that 97 mph gasser. He'll be fine, and so will we. My bigger concern is a lack of runs being scored. The Big Boppers in this lineup haven't done much yet.

I hope you're right. So far the Jays look pretty bad. I'm going to have to skip the next couple games. Tonight pissed me off and I fully expect them to get swept by the Sox now.

Santos biggest problem right now is his inability to establish his fast ball in a good strike location. Just look at Saturdays game against the Indians, he left a fast ball up in the strike zone and Cabrera went yard....and today he left a strike up and Pedroia hit a leadoff double. If he can command his fastball it will setup his changeup and devastating slider and then he'll start tallying the Ks.
People have to remember that Santos has only been pitching for a couple of seasons, after all he was drafted as a shortstop by Arizona in the 1st round back in 2002. He's going to go through some growing pains along the way which is normal for someone fairly new to his position.

The season is only 4 games in don't count them out so quickly. Heck the Yanks and Redsox are only 1-3 at this point and the Braves are 0-4.
Are pitching has been solid up to this point, aside from Santos of course, and our hitting hasn't been great but has produced some clutch hits to get us both our wins.
I expect a better result tomorrow as we face the hard throwing Daniel Bard.

He's just pumped up (which I like) provided he can harness it. He'll work it out. The Cabrera dinger on Saturday was a neck high 95 mph fastball. Most guys swing threw that pitch or pop it up. It was out of the strikezone and Cabrera hacked it out (he was lucky). Today's a new day and time for another "W".

Ozzie Guillen got a 5-game suspension for his comments about Castro. He'll miss 2 games at the Phillies and a 3 game homestand against the Astros.
