Since it's topical.... from a recent discussion at work, I found out it's possible to have a perfect game with an error. Anybody know how?

An error is made in foul territory but the hitter is later out during his at-bat.

Yup.

I still think that would be trippy. To hear that there was a perfect game and look at the line and see an error for the other team.

Damn, what's the deal with all these no hitters/perfect games in the last few years? Years back, we'd be lucky to see one or two a year on average, and since 2010, there's been 14 of them. 5 of the 22 perfect games in history since 1880 have happened since 2009. Like wtf.

Quite possibly the most dominating perfect game ever, congrats to Matt Cain, what a stud he's been this year... Can't believe I missed it as I was at the hospital visiting a sick cousin... just got home waiting for highlights now

Can't argue with that. He's tied Koufax and Randy Johnson for 14 SO for a perfect game.

Cain deserved this, he's pitched 3 1-hit games in his career and was due

One day I will finally watch a perfect game happen... Stupid baseball on the Left Coast at 1 in the morning. Congrats to Matt Cain on what ESPN is apparently calling the second greatest box score in baseball history after Kerry Wood's 20K one-hitter.

Don't feel bad i missed the game as well. I've yet to witness a perfect game.
