The Dodgers have apparently been awarded the trade waiver claim on 1B Adrian Gonzalez. The Red Sox and Dodgers now have 72 hours to complete a trade, for the Red Sox to withdraw A-Gon from waivers, or tell him to pack his bags.

Wtf? Are you serious, thats what the Dodgers need, more fire power, they already got Hanley Ramírez, who's been a great pickup... You might as well start calling them the L.A Yankees with the money there starting to spend

When I asked a member of Red Sox front office a few minutes ago..are you trading Adrian Gonzalez to Dodgers next 48 hours? response "NO!!!"

Of course that probably means that a Dodgers/Red Sox blockbuster will follow.....that's usually how it plays out

IIRC, any player the Red Sox receive in return would have to clear waivers as well or not be on the Dodgers 40-man roster.

We are pretty much down a power at bat. Apparently Ethier has a huge busted blister on his hand. Perhaps the reason he has sucked to high heaven the past couple months.

The Dodgers have claimed Red Sox pitcher Josh Beckett off waivers. Beckett is due roughly $35 million through 2014 and currently is 5-11 with a 5.23 ERA. Beckett has full 10-5 rights so he must approve any trade.

A potential blockbuster trade may be in the works:

So would the Red Sox be picking up a big chunk of the tab? If not I'm not sure what the Dodgers are doing. Those are three seriously overpaid underachievers. Gonzalez not as much, but definately Crawford and Beckett.

Looked it up and those four players make a combined $58 mill this season and slightly more in 2013.
