Anyway, the Dodgers better just start focusing on the wild card (they are 1 1/2 out) because with 21 games left and 5 1/2 out, odds are not in the Dodgers favor.

we've been playing like shit yea, but regardless, we are in the situation we are in fighting for the division in the biggest series of the season...to blow a call like that and if it affected making the playoffs or not would be pretty disappointing....

yea, i know youre going to say that the way we have been playing is disappointing but it is what it is

Yeah, but you shouldn't put yourself in a situation that the game is decided on a call. Honestly, that series against the O's was a wasted opportunity because we could have but some distance between us and them. I say we have to go into Boston and sweep them. We have a very favorable Sep schedule and we need to start stringing some wins together (like 8 out of the next 10 or better).

It'll probably not make a difference. Losing to the Red Sox, pathetic. I knew that outburst on Sund with 13 runs that they would struggle to score tonight. Heh, they haven't won multiple games in a row since winning 3 in a row against the Rangers back on Aug 13, 14, 15. Almost a month ago.

Yup, pathetic. I knew this was the same shit different day when they failed to score after the Red Sox walked practically the whole team. Then the whole debacle with the bunts that turned into hits. I don't think the ball left the infield that inning. Blowing leads right after getting them. Why can't this team hit with runners in scoring position? There are other ways of scoring runs without the long ball.

And of course it HAD to be Ellsbury's birthday.

Ugh, it's like the baseball gods are laughing at us. Anyways, we're not mathematically eliminated yet even though it sure feels like it. They can turn things around.

Jones shouldn't have played last night. I am so sick of that guy. I know he had a stellar series against Boston last time they played and he probably hits lefties well, but the guy is a complete lollygager. He is way too nonchalant in the outfield.

I miss Gardner. He added something special to the team. I don’t feel that from this team this year.

Not winning back-to-back games for almost a month is the reason why you're tied for first. They need to pull a winning streak out of their ass just to keep in playoff contention, and the last 3 games are a perfect example of why they will not do it. You can't lose a 1 run game, win by 10 the next day, then lose another 1 run game the following day. The Yankees have one of the best offenses in baseball but their inconsistency will end their season early this year.

The only thing that can save the Yankees is an easy schedule the rest of the season, but after losing to Boston game 1 and probably 2 games when the series is over, they'll be lucky to settle for a wildcard spot.

Because you guys are winning every-other game, and the Orioles are winning 2/3 games. Do the math, it's not that hard to figure out. They need to go on a winning streak or by next week will be out of even a wildcard spot let alone the division.
