Ok here is an interesting question, who has the most feared team currently in MLB.

Angels

Hamilton
Trout
Pujols

Nuff Said

Tigers

Cabrera
Fielder
V-mart

Nuff Said

Blue Jays
No idea what there lineup looks like but they made that monster trade

Giants
Nav will have to give more info on thee lineup not sure how they are shaping up, but I think he said 95% of the team is back.

Nationals

By Default they have to be in this conversation they are projected to possibly have 100 wins and they have pone of the most talented young rosters in MLB.

Phillies

Always an interesting one, always seems this team under performs due to injuries or something else holding them back.

Braves

Team made some good moves this offseason and got jipped in the 1 game playoff by the umps, will there anger carry over to this season with the team showing they have something to prove?

In terms of fire power, def these two teams should be the most feared in the MLB right now... But we all know just because you have the scariest lineup, doesnt always equate to a championship ... BUT.... In terms of overall balanced teams up and down the lineup, defense & pitching, I'd give the edge to teams like the Giants, Braves, Nats, and even the Tigers ( But I dont know much about the AL teams since I dont really follow them)...

Braves and Nats could be dangerous this year. Depending on how the Phillies rebound, we could see 2 teams at close to 100 wins in the same division.

They have a legitimate shot at repeating this year. When they get hot at the right time (much like the NY football Giants), they simply can not be beaten.

I still can't believe Braun got off the failed test on a technicality. It seems like there's a shady roids "doctor" on every street in Miami.

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/...-investigation

Quote:
Ryan Braun on additional document

MIAMI -- The list was written in April, in the hand of Biogenesis of America clinic founder Anthony Bosch. Among the names is the Milwaukee Brewers' Ryan Braun, and to the right of that name is a figure: $1,500.

That list, a source familiar with Bosch's operation told "Outside the Lines," indicates that those players received performance-enhancing drugs from Bosch and owed him money. The document, one of dozens obtained by "Outside the Lines," suggests a closer link to Bosch and the now-shuttered clinic he ran in Coral Gables, Fla., than Braun has acknowledged.

The list is not definitive proof that Braun either received or used PEDs -- either would be a suspendable offense under Major League Baseball policy -- but may draw him more squarely into the spotlight as the league investigates the scandal and tries to draw the interest of law enforcement.

The Brewers outfielder was first connected to Bosch in a Yahoo! Sports report last week -- citing a different document -- that did not connect his name to drugs. Braun explained the report by saying he had consulted with Bosch during his successful appeal of a positive drug test a year ago. Why he consulted with Bosch, who is not a physician but presents himself as one, has not been made clear.

Bosch had been identified four years ago as a source for the HCG prescription that led to Manny Ramirez's 50-game suspension. That prescription was written by Bosch's father, Pedro, who is a licensed physician in the Miami area. According to the documents cited by Yahoo! Sports, Bosch sought $20,000 to $30,000 from Braun.

But a source familiar with the documents obtained by "Outside the Lines" said the list with Braun's name, which also includes New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez and Francisco Cervelli and Toronto's Melky Cabrera, was a list of players who received PEDs, and that there is "no other reason to be on that paper."

And some writers either don't care or completely bought his story. He finished 2nd in the NL MVP last year. If I'm a voter, he's never getting another vote from me.

I would have voted for him too and in the future as well as long as he's not getting suspended (as runner-up last year, Posey was better regardless last year). If MLB says he can play and he's passing all his drug tests, the moral side really shouldn't come into play and you should vote according to on-field performance only. That's what they did with Bonds for his four straight MVP's.

He didn't "pass" the test... he failed it.

That was two seasons ago. I would literally go on a year to year basis. If dirty one year no, "clean" the next yes.

The olympics were willing to allow Kurt Angle to particpate in wrestling at the 2012 games had he not been hurt despite juicing and taking HGH for his entire pro wrestling career. Think about that.

Isn't the Olympics more guided by advice from the international body for individual sport? I'm pretty sure the international body for cycling or basketball is different from wrestling. Either way they just royally screwed wrestling. Synchronized Swimming is an Olympic sport but Wrestling is getting axed.

Weird accident by Carl Pavano. The guy almost died just from a snow shovel handle jamming his midsection.

http://aol.sportingnews.com/mlb/stor...6pLid%3D271658

Quote:
Free agent pitcher Carl Pavano said the January snow-shoveling accident that led to his spleen being removed almost was fatal.

"I'm just lucky to be alive," Pavano, 37, told the Star Tribune.

The veteran righthander, who parted ways with the Minnesota Twins following the 2012 season, was shoveling snow off the driveway of his Vermont home on Jan. 12 when the accident occurred. He jammed his midsection on the handle of his shovel but didn't think the injury was serious.

"It knocked the wind out of me," he told the newspaper. "I didn't think anything of it that weekend. We were out on snowmobiles and sleds with the kids. We were building snowmen."

Four days later, when Pavano didn't feel well after a workout in Connecticut, he sought medical help and was diagnosed with a lacerated spleen. "My body just went into shock. I turned white. It was one of the worst feelings I've probably ever had."

Doctors at a Connecticut hospital recommended Pavano take a wait-and-see approach to see if the bleeding would stop by itself.

But by Jan. 19, a week after the accident, his blood count had dropped dangerously low and a lung had collapsed. His wife called her doctor in Florida to get his opinion.

"He said I was on borrowed time," Pavano said. "So we went to Hartford Hospital. That's the No. 1 trauma center in the area."

Before removing his spleen, doctors first had to remove 6 1/2 liters of blood from his chest cavity, he said.

"I was hours away from going into cardiac arrest and probably wouldn't even be here," Pavano said.

Pavano lost 35 pounds in three weeks and still is too weak to lift his children, ages 3 and 4.

The former All-Star made 11 starts for the Twins in 2012, going 2-5 with 6.00 ERA and missing most of the year with injuries. He didn't pitch after June 1.

He will not be able to work out for several more weeks, or perhaps even months. But he is determined to pitch in the majors again.

"Right now, that's the last thing I'm worried about," he said. "It's been a crazy few weeks."
