Sorry for the following Brewers smack talk of posting actual facts about people and teams.

Quote:
It super sucks to be Mat Gamel right now. The Milwaukee Brewers' corner infielder, who was at one time a fairly promising prospect, will miss the entire 2013 season after tearing his ACL. Gamel's injury is all the more depressing due to the fact that he just finished a rehab stint after tearing the same ligament last May. It gets even worse, though, because Gamel's latest ACL tear was a bit of a freak occurrence:

"It's a tear of the middle portion of the repair, which as (team physician William) Raasch explained to me, is unusual," assistant general manager Gord Ash said. "There are failures — 10 percent seems to be the historical number. But of those failures, they're mostly at either end (of the ligament)."

Gamel has yet to play a full season at the major league level, but the Brewers were planning on making him the team's starting first baseman while Corey Hart recovered from his own knee injury. Instead, Gamel is left to spend another season in solitude, rehabbing his knee and pondering the inherent cruelty of life. Poor bastard.

And seriously, the only person that came in talking smack was you. I guess seeing your football team trying to dump its only good player can put one in a bad mood.
Pretty much. Nothing of real worth since 2009. Or we could say 5 times in 16 years. Nope it was your comments that I replied to. Lol so we are going to bring football into a baseball discussion. I personally think we should trade him for as much as we can. But yeah that's what has me in a "bad mood."

lol it was really the Yankee comment.

What Yankee comment? I mentioned the payroll woes of the Mets, and you started asking why was a Braves fan talking smack and pointed out that the team hasn't been in a World Series this century.

I apologize in advance to any Athletics, Rangers, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Rays, Yankees or White Sox fans.

Jose Canseco is the slightly more stable version of the Iron Sheik...

All from Twitter...

You ever wonder why nothing REALLY big exists today in nature

Animal tissue of muscles and ligaments could not support huge dinosaurs even standing up or pump blood up 60 foot necks

Gravity had to be weaker to make dinosaurs nimble

My theory is the core of the planet shifted when single continent formed to keep us in a balanced spin

The land was farther away from the core and had much less gravity so bigness could develop and dominate

I may not be 100% right but think about it. How else could 30 foot leather birds fly?

Not true. But sure let's go with this because if you said it, it must be right .

Here's walrus changing the conversation with completely irrelevant topics.

If Bobby Bonilla's contract doesn't fit you must acquit.

What? Whatever you say buddy. I said he was talking a lot of smack. It wasn't specified to the Mets comment. Whatever it's not that big of a deal. I just don't want to see smack talk of my team from a fan whose team hasn't won anything substantial since '95. Anyways have you seen the UCF Harlem shake video?

Oh, the Javier Vazquez comment? Sorry, but the Yankees have a history of paying a lot of money to guys coming off one good season, and then falling apart under the new found pressure. Didn't realize an innocent comment on it would offend.

Kinda. But I can name just as many people who are not in that class. Who do you have Pavano and Vasquez? Plus when was the last time they signed someone like that? It might have been slightly indicative of how they did business in the past, but they haven't operated like that in awhile.

They also haven't made the World Series since they stopped

I'd include AJ Burnett in the more recent list. They also did it with Jaret Wright if you go a little further back.

So that means what 2-3 years lol. Kind of a small sample size don't you think

Yup Wright, but let's be fair they just signed him to a 3 year $21 million dollar deal. Way more than he deserved, but not that much lol. I don't consider Burnett. No matter how he ended his time with the Yanks he still pitched very well in the 2009 playoffs, which did net us a WS win. Fact is the Yankees are always going to have to pay more than any other team because agents know they can get it because the Yankees are loaded. Same thing with trades. Now teams are using us as leverage to get more from other teams. But we are now more fiscally strict since the The Boss died.

Trout is reported to have shown up at camp weighing 240, I expect him to easily go for 35+ homers this year.

Or be terrible. There are a lot of guys who have bulked up after a good season and completely fallen apart. 240 seems like a lot for him to be carrying (30 more than last year), so I'm curious to see what it does to his defense and base running.

Really looking forward to the new baseball season. Being a Dodger fan, there's a lot to look forward to this season. I hope to god that Greinke can revert to his Cy Young form from a few years ago. If so, the Dodgers could possibly have the nastiest 1-2 punch on the mound. One power lefty, one power righty. New ownership has finally allowed us to spend money on good players. And if Crawford is finally healthy, and A-Gon plays merely to his potential, then we could be a threat. On paper is one thing, but in the actual games is another. I just hope that this is the year that we can rise above those damn Giants and win the division, and hopefully go even further.
