Didn't Puig take several attempts to finally get out of Cuba and had to leave behind family? Maybe it's just a sensitive subject that he doesn't want to discuss right now.

He could have but I'm thinking there's more to the story. The guy was like 12 years old and in Cuba when Gonzalez had that World Series winning hit. He probably had no clue who Gonzalez was until McGwire told him. Puig probably has a LOT of people trying to make friends with him due to his new found fame. It's got to be a culture shock where he doesn't know who to trust.

I'd rather see somebody who's been grinding all season long rather than somebody's who's just gotten to the league a few weeks ago. It's only a matter of time before he finds himself in a slump and he's hitting below .300

Hanley Ramirez is the reason why I'm against Puig being an all star.

Hanley Ramirez 35 games played: .409BA .452OBP .739Slug
Yasiel Puig 35 games played: .394BA .428OBP .634Slug

One of these is clearly more deserving than the other.

And note: Ramirez has more RBIs and is tied in Home Runs too.

I think Puig not wanting to speak with him had a lot more to do with the current situation between the Dodgers and DBacks. The guys coming from the Latin American countries take the game much more seriously and a lot of people don't believe in fraternizing with the other team, much less the arch-rival.

It seems like the Braves and Blue Jays just ran better campaigns then other teams. I heard a lot about their joint campaign but didn't hear a thing from the Dodgers about their campaign for Puig.
