Max Stassi of the Astros took a pitch to the face that looked quite a bit like Heyward's, though not as devestating from reports. And yes, this is the same guy who one day earlier made his rookie debut for Houston where he was safe at 2nd base and "wandered" away after the play only to get tagged out. Tough first two days he's had.

Not that getting hit in the face is fun either way, but this one really looks like it bounced off the shoulder first instead of being direct to the face.

That's the impression I got when watching the game anyway.

Yeah, it hit him on the shoulder and bounced off towards his face so it wasnt AS bad but still unfortunate. I laughed my ass off when he wandered off the base, I still can't figure out why he did in the first place
