I don't miss a lot of Card games, but was really busy tonight and didn't get a chance to see much of the game. When I finally had a chance to flip on the TV, Craig just stepped to the plate! HAHA! Grand! Cards up half a game now in the Central.

I knew this response was coming from the Astros, just like the former owner Drayton McLane they will always say they are losing money. They cite “significant inaccuracies” in the Forbes.com story and MLB agrees with them, OF COURSE. MLB spokesman Patrick Courtney said, “We concur with the Astros’ statement.”

Well they did give Greinke, a guy with a consistent so-so 3.50 ERA almost $25 mill a year. I guess considering how much better Kershaw is the market value is probably $30 mill a year.

He will be the best pitcher in the game for at least the next three years, playing in L.A. I'm honestly surprised he isn't getting a longer contract.

That doesn't mean he will be. He could just as easily be the next Mark Prior.

Kershaw has already thrown over 1100 innings in the big leagues without an injury. Prior threw about 300 innings before his arm imploded.

some pitchers can handle it...

look at Verlander in Detroit... the guys a work horse... even with his off year this year, hes still putting up decent numbers...

Not sure if they are decent numbers. He's lost velocity and he's getting huge run support which helps with his win-loss column. Otherwise he probably would have a losing record this year. Other than 2008 this is probably his worst year in the majors.
