But since you don't know the history of it, after Evan Gattis hit a HR earlier, Fernandez started yelling into the Braves dugout and Chris Johnson yelled back at him about it. Then after he stands at home plate for 5 seconds watching his HR, he spit in the general direction of Johnson.

Yes, there was no need for benches to clear, but I'm pretty sure the Marlins came towards McCann when he was giving some fatherly advice (Fernandez said as much after the game), and that brought Johnson in and then of course brings everybody else out.

But if you really think it's acceptable in baseball for any guy, no matter the circumstances, to stand at home plate and watch a HR for 5 seconds, you haven't been watching the sport for long.

But you conveniently left out the part where Gattis stared at Fernandez after hitting his HR.

It was clearly a douche move by Fernandez and he seemed to truly show remorse for his actions after the game. That was one heck of a year Fernandez had and it's a shame he did it in Miami where few people watched his games and he had virtually no offensive support. It was clearly a great year for rookies as Fernandez and Puig both have a strong case for Rookie of the Year.

First career homerun while playing for Loria entitles you to anything you want. I'd gladly go take a nap in the clubhouse if he felt the need to take 15 minutes to get around the bases.
