It was bad ass. Metallica played Enter Sandman,

Metallica gave Rivera an autographed guitar and an amp.

I'd call it the retirement room lol. Hats off to the greatest. That is very likely the last time he pitches in NY

Manny Machado had to be taken off on a stretcher after his knee buckled running past first base. It looked really bad.

Couple of factors:
1) The Astros and their very limited Comcast Sports Network
2) The game was on at the same time as the Texans-Ravens game.

In Houston, most sports fans have already tuned out baseball and tuned into football.

Wrigley is turning into party central. The Braves clinched the NL East there on Sunday, and last night, the Pirates clinched a playoff spot there.

Was reading a Buster Olney article about whether or not Mariano Rivera will be the first unanimous inductee into the HOF, and it mentioned Greg Maddux. I don't know how anyone could even consider leaving him off, but I bet at least 5 will. Tom Seaver was the closest ever when he was selected on 425 of the 430 ballots.

There's no way Mariano will be a unanimous pick. There are the dinosaur sportswriters who think that because players like Joe Dimaggio weren't unanimous then no player should ever be unanimous, but they exist and they won't vote for Mariano. He'll easily make the HOF on the first ballot, but it won't be near unanimous.

Same will happen when Jeter enter his first year of eligibility even though he should be a slam dunk HOF.
