EDIT: Verlander pitched a hell of a game today. This is a pitching showcase on both sides and it is great to watch.

He held his own, getting out of his jams. Damn bullpen gave up that big 2 run pinch HR as where Dodgers pinch hitters grounded into double plays

I don't get it. How do Detroit sports teams pack in very large crowds despite the city being beyond broke? The Tigers, Lions and Wings all have very good attendance/fan support. Only the Pistons don't draw well.

This incident comes a little more than a year after Vi Ripken was abducted at gunpoint from her home in Aberdeen, bound and driven around in a car, and later released. A suspect has yet to be arrested in that case, and police do not believe that this latest incident is related.

sporting events are more of an escape from their every day lives

also, not sure how much tickets are their etc? anyone know how reasonable they are?
