MLB has made a adjustment to the "transfer rule". Now when a player catches the ball but then drops it when he tries to take it out of his glove to throw it (ala the 2nd baseman tries to throw to 1st in a double play) will be a out.

Carlos Santana has recently made the move from C to 3B. Donaldson of the A's did it as well.

If other former shortstops can move to third I don't see why a athlete like Posey at his young age couldn't. Besides Brandon Belt is going to be a monster at first. He might be the first Giant since Bonds to hit 30 HR in a season with playing half his games at AT&T.

Braves are in the interesting position of having to remove a guy from their starting rotation who has a 2.31 ERA to make room for Mike Minor. They've known he'd be moved out when Minor returned all along, but to think that he has a great ERA and is the "worst" of the starting pitchers has to make it hard to make the move. Especially coming off his best start of the season (and career, though it was only his 6th game): 8 IP, 2 H, 1 ER.

I swear it's like the Braves can just plug in any starter and be successful. ERA for starters:

Harang - 0.85
Wood - 1.54
Teheran - 1.80
Santana - 1.95
Hale - 2.31

18 quality starts in 23 games. Just imagine if they had their actual starters available.

21 of 23 games the SP has allowed 2 or less ERs. Braves are the only team that's allowed less than 75 runs, and they've allowed 58, only 50 of which were ERs. Only team to allow less than 15 HRs, and they've allowed 9.

Apparently Reds fans are making a fuss on the internet that Craig Kimbrel is using pine tar because of the wet spot on the brim of his hat that he's had ever since he started pitching in the majors. I guess because they only see him a few times a year they don't notice the sequence of events he does before every single pitch, or notice that the color changes throughout the season. Why? Because it's saliva and not washing a hat. He licks his fingers and then wipes them down the front brim, just like lots of pitchers wipe them down their leg or jersey.
