Julio Teheran was the first Braves pitcher with multiple shutouts in a single season since Greg Maddux in 2001!

And the first under 25 since Steve Avery in 1992.

Another no decision for Jeff Samardzija today. He went 7 innings with no runs and left with a 2-0 lead but the Cubs bullpen blew it yet again in the 9th. Samardzija is 0-4 but leads the majors with a 1.46 ERA, 0.39 points better than the next closest pitcher.

They want A LOT. If he's still balling at the All-Star break, they'll probably get it.

The Cubs are definitely willing to trade him, but since Samardzija isn't a free agent until after the 2015 season the Cubs don't have the urgency to trade him like they would if he could leave after the season, so right now they aren't budging with their demands. I would be very surprised if he's not traded by the deadline, but the Cubs aren't going to deal him unless a team is willing to give up a lot.

The Cubs pitcher that will traded soon is Jason Hammel. He's been pitching well with a 5-2 record and 2.91 ERA and since he's only signed to a one-year deal the Cubs will want to flip him this season. His price won't be near Samardzija's, so teams that don't have the prospects to get Samardzija like the Yankees will likely try and get Hammel.

The Giants downfall starts with Santiago Casilla. For some reason, the RP decided to try and beat out an infield single in the 9th inning of a 4-run lead, and now he's headed to the DL with a torn hamstring. Bochy told him to not even swing.

Matt Cain also left with a hurt hamstring last night and may end up on the DL as well, so overall it was a pretty bad night for the Giants despite getting the win.
