Of course it's not just the Yankees paying people for doing nothing. The Dodgers are paying bums like Manny Ramirez ($4 mill) and Andruw Jones ($3.375 mill) for doing nothing. They're paying about $16 mill to players no longer with the team.

Houston is a prime example of why the league needs a team payroll floor more than it needs a payroll. That's inexcusable. The owners are probably just collecting their welfare, err... luxury tax cash from the Yankees and Dodgers and pocketing the profit.

Last night was the Diamondbacks 10th blown save (out of 18 save opportunities) of the season. They've got to do something with their bullpen if they want to contend in the NL West. What is odd is that the Diamondbacks bullpen has a 3.36 ERA (prior to yesterday's game), which is the 6th best in MLB, so the bullpen isn't doing bad overall, just in save opportunities.

All Jordan Schafer does is walk! 29 pitches in 4 plate appearances today.... 4 walks. He went 1-1 with 3 BBs on Monday too.
