Holy crap.... anybody see/hear about the White Sox/Mariners game? 0-0 after 13. White Sox score 5 in the top of the 14th. Kyle Seager hits a Grand Slam for the Mariners with 2 outs in the bottom of the 14th to tie it. Sox have now added 2 more thus far in the top of the 16th.

It's now being reported that Tony Bosch asked Alex Rodriguez for hundreds of thousands of dollars to help with his legal defense in MLB's lawsuit against Bosch but A-Rod turned him, so Bosch decided to cooperate with MLB in exchange for them dropping their lawsuit. MLB is now seeking a 100-game suspension against Rodriguez, and if they are successful that would cost him around $18 million in salary.

Word from the Biogenesis scandal is leaking out that if Suspensions are to be levied they will be done sometime in July after all the players implicated have been interviewed in June.

A source familiar with the Biogenesis investigation tells HardballTalk that Major League Baseball plans to interview all of the players implicated in the Biogenesis scandal by the end of June. Then, at that point, it will make a decision on whether to pursue discipline and how. The plan is for discipline to be leveled — if it is, indeed, leveled — by the first week of July. Pursuant to the Joint Drug Agreement players will then have the right to appeal if discipline is imposed.

This information confirms ESPN’s Outside the Lines report from last night that Major League Baseball’s investigation of Biogenesis is proceeding. However, any speculation that Major League Baseball has already decided to discipline the players implicated in the Biogenesis scandal or that it has already decided to impose any specific penalties, be they 50- or 100-game suspensions, was premature. The league’s investigation is being assisted by clinic founder Tony Bosch, the source confirmed.

When contacted by HardballTalk, Major League Baseball officials did not comment on the story.

Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees, 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers and Melky Cabrera of the Toronto Blue Jays – who received a 50-game suspension last season for the use of PEDs – are among the 20 players reportedly being targeted by MLB.

Braun issued a stern denial this morning, while Cabrera told USA Today Sports: “I don’t know anything about it. This is the first I hear of it. If they suspend me again, I think that would be a harsh punishment because I already served my sentence. But it’s up to them.”

Rodriguez, once considered a threat to break the sport’s all-time home run record, admitted to ESPN four years ago that he used performance-enhancing drugs earlier in his career, when he played for the Texas Rangers.

Washington Nationals star outfielder Bryce Harper will seek a second opinion on his injured left knee from renowned surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Thursday that Harper will visit Andrews on Monday because the swelling in his knee hasn't improved.

Harper was placed on the disabled list on Saturday with what initially was diagnosed as bursitis in the knee.

Harper, last season's National League Rookie of the Year, will seek the opinion of Andrews after his knee responded poorly to recent treatment.

Johnson said the knee became swollen after Harper did some light jogging in a pool.

"The negative news is that Bryce did a little running in the water and his knee has been swelling up," Johnson said, according to CSNWashington.com. "He's going to see Andrews on Monday. He's probably not going to be available to come off [the DL] when he's supposed to come off."

Harper is eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.

Cleveland Indians closer Chris Perez and has wife have been charged with misdemeanor drug possession in the shipment of just over one-third of a pound of marijuana mailed to their home, authorities said Friday.

Complaints were served on the two on Thursday and will be filed Friday in municipal court, police in suburban Rocky River said.

Perez and his wife, Melanie, were released on personal bond, police said. A message was left with his attorney Friday; the player and the lawyer haven't responded to previous requests for comment.

A message seeking comment was left Friday with the team. Team officials earlier said they were watching the situation.

Dan Chaplin, a Cleveland defense attorney not connected with the case, compared the charge to a traffic ticket and said a conviction likely would be punished with a fine.

Drug agents with a search warrant went to the couple's rental home on Tuesday, apparently tipped off by postal workers suspicious of a package mailed there.
