Are you a generational Bronx resident? The reason I ask is because I'm wondering if your dad or grampa ever got to the "real Old Yankee Stadium" (pre 1973), "The Polo Grounds" (across the river in Harlem) or "Ebett's Field" in Brooklyn. I Love the old ballparks and was curious what those 3 were like.

I've been to 12 ballparks around the league, 7 of which, are no longer in use.

1. Tiger Stadium-Detroit (my all-time fave).
2. Yankee Stadium-The Bronx (in 2008 to see the Jays for 3)
3. Jarry Park-Montreal
4. Municiple Stadium-Cleveland
5. Exhibition Stadium-Toronto
6. Riverfront Stadium-Cincinnati
7. Candlestick Park-San Francisco
My parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and great great grandparents all born and lived in the Bronx for all their lives. Yeah they've been to the all 4 of the NY baseball teams.

That's awesome. I had forgotten about Shea, which I'm sure you got to at some point.

While my devotion to my teams (Leafs, Jays & Browns) is etched in both loyalty and borderline lunacy, I absolutely love the history of these 3 sports. My point...while I dislike the Yanks, their place in baseball history can not be ignored. Babe Ruth literally saved the game after the 1919 Black Sox scandal and is IMO the most important sports figure of all-time. Having said that, I do have some Yankee stuff in my baseball collection.

Here you go, GG, Enjoy:

1. Babe Ruth jersey and 3 McFarlane figures from different stages of the his career.

2. Framed pic of the Babe and his accomplishments.

3. From our trip to the Bronx in 2008. Yankee beer cup, pic I took from my seat (loved the role call from the maniacs in the bleachers...AWESOME), McFarlane of "The Mick" and poster of "The Mick".

4. Yankee Stadium collectible newspaper on the history of the stadium (one of my favourite pieces in my entire sports collection).

Braves now have 5 runs in their first 8 batters (2+ innings)! They hadn't scored in the previous 24 innings.
