What I don't understand is the clueless fans who think it was wrong to take Bedard out because of a no hitter. It's unfortunate on how we over romanticize a no hitter sometimes. Five walks, two passed balls and a poor 61-48 strike to ball ratio in 6.1 innings isn't anything special and Bedard knew that which is why he agreed to be pulled after a mound visit in the seventh. Not to mention the three shoulder surgeries he's had in the past.

I know it is strange to see a pitcher take himself out of a game when he has a no-hitter going but like you explained, he had surgeries before and knew his limitations. Also, there is no way if he stayed in that he would have had a no-hitter.

It's not just about the stats, it's the fact that he's basically reinvigorated that entire team in the course of a month and a half. The kid has been incredible.

Everyone credits Puig with reinvigorating the team but I'd say a bigger factor has been the return of Hanley Ramirez. Outside of a four-game stretch in April/May he'd missed the entire season and he returned the day after Puig debuted. Ramirez has been on fire since he came back and has a higher batting average, more homers, more RBIs, and a much higher OBP than Puig in only one more game played.

Ryan Braun has been suspended for the remainder of the season. Braun said in a statement: "I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes. I am willing to accept the consequences."

And it makes sense for him to get the suspension done this year. The Brewers are in last place so it makes sense for him to get the suspension out of the way now rather than fight it and end up missing a large portion of next season.

Didn't Braun get the tester fired too? I remeber him saying he was a "victim" of the testing process last year, just pathetic, and i defended him

However, if he thinks the matter is done with, he's sadly mistaken. It will always come up for the rest of his career whether he decides to do it clean the rest of the way or not.

Well in fairness rules are rules. If the testing procedures were not followed properly the test from last year should have been tossed. I hate people getting off on technicalities but that's how the system works. I'm glad in the end Braun did get nailed.

The fact that he's not appealing tells me MLB's case against these players is much stronger than I thought it would be. Looks like it will soon be over for Colon and Melky then.
