Who knows? The Rangers are another possibility. I don't know why they wouldn't. Maybe they want to shed payroll and give Garcia a starting spot in the OF.

I must be missing something. All being "Claimed on waivers" means is that the White Sox have the option to trade him to the team that did so. They can still keep him if they want to.

Well, they could just let him go but that seems unlikely.

It is officially the Rangers that claimed Rios off Waivers, but it (probably)does not matter.

The White Sox and Rangers weren't remotely close at the trade deadline and the only thing that changes with waivers is that the White Sox can't "threaten" to trade him to a different team for a better offer.

My guess is it does not happen.

They was asking for a combination of two of Profar, Jackson, and/or Perez.

That for a headcase who's overpaid? Good luck with that request.

That's why I think he's not going anywhere. It's a long ways from that to a reasonable trade, and at the trade deadline at least they were not budging.

Of course this screws me fantasy wise as he was pulled from the game after being in the starting lineup for the first game lol
