Way better than what the Angels could do against them

They only owe Pujols $212 million over the next 8 years. Pujols will be making $29 mill when he's 40 and $30 mill when he's 41.

Here's what the Angels have gotten out of Pujols and Hamilton this season. Their combined numbers aren't as good as Miguel Cabrera's.

Avg - Hamilton (.230), Pujols (.258)
HR - 36 combined
RIB - 124 combined

I'm so glad Jon Daniels (Rangers GM) passed on offering Hamilton more money even though Hamilton didn't even give us a chance to out bid the Angels in the first place, supposedly. I still can't believe that he left a team that did anything and everything to make him feel comfortable including popping 2-liter ginger ale bottles instead of champagne after winning the ALCS to comfort his illness. Hell always be one of my all time favorite rangers but now that hes on our division rivals team, I hope he fails miserably.

I love seeing teams that go out and spend absurd amounts of money on one or two players fail. It almost never works. Look where the Angels are right now and look where the Rangers and Cardinals are. Those teams ended up being just as good without those overpriced players and the Angels are the 4th worst team in the AL this year.

What's funny is Hamilton dissed Rangers fans for not getting behind the team when he skipped town. Josh might want to check the avg attendance numbers.

Texas - 39,312 per game
LA Angels - 37,222 per game

The Rangers never intended to match the contract. I don't think they had any ill will towards Hamilton, but simply did not want to over pay for his decline years.

I will say the Ranger fans have been horrible towards Hamilton, who practically carried them by himself to the only two American League pennants in franchise history.

Ryan Dempster got a 5-game suspension WITH PAY for hitting A Rod. That's barely even a slap on the wrist, all they're doing is pushing a start back a day.

Hah, I love it. MLB is just giving A-Rod a big middle-finger.

I'm bored so I thought I would watch a baseball game and I have the YES Network, but the Yankee game is blackout, is it just because I don't have the MLB package? If so, that's just stupid because I'm already paying for the channel itself with the package I have.

Well what do you expect when you go to our division rivals team and then say that "Texas is not a baseball town" and then say that Rangers fans didn't support the team when he left town (which I had no idea about until ChadFL just pointed it out to me). He obviously knew that was going to rub rangers fans the wrong way. He did a lot for us and I loved him for it but once you're on the other team, I could care less for you, especially if you're going to talk bad about us.

Hamilton started blowing off the Rangers, and their fans, long before the fans turned on him. I don't know how anyone can blame the Rangers' fans for the animosity between them and Hamilton. It's almost entirely his fault, and his parting shot sealed the deal.

I guess that's why Texas has a win% this season almost identical to the past several years despite Hamilton being gone.

Hamilton had some amazingly good MVP months for the Rangers, but he also had almost as many terrible slumps.

I think the real key the last couple of years has been Beltre, great bat and great defense as well. The thing about Beltre is he doesn't always hit everything and have amazing overall stats, but when the game is on the line he takes it to another level.

Came across this fun stat on Twitter. Not sure people outside of Atlanta realize just how good Andrelton Simmons is....

Quote:
Stat of the Day: With 38 games remaining, Andrelton Simmons now owns the all-time single-season record in Defensive Runs Saved, with 37.

Exactly, and let's not forget that massive $2500 fine.....why bother? Suspend the guy for 5 starts and he'll get the message.....absolutely absurd fine and suspension.

Puig's HR helps the Dodgers break a two-game losing streak, their longest in two months.

The A-Rod story keeps getting more bizarre. The firm representing him also represented Cashman's former mistress and supposedly has information that can be used against MLB in the A-Rod case.
