Hell of a way to go out! Pitched a complete game for the win. His first complete game since 2006.

Andy came into the game with a 10-11 record. If he lost the game or even got a no decision, it would have been his FIRST losing record of his career! he gutted it out and put fate into his own hands.

With the win, Andy becomes the first pitcher without a losing season in their career. wow!

even with no playoffs this year, Mo and Pettitte gave us a hell of a show to end the season. True Yankee legends.

Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz has served his 50-game suspension and will be activated for Monday night's tiebreaker game against the Rays at the Ballpark in Arlington. Cruz accepted a 50-game suspension by Major League Baseball in August for violation of the Basic Agreement and its Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment program.

Cruz is expected to be back in the lineup against left-hander David Price in a game that will decide who advances as the second Wild Card team and plays the Indians in the Wild Card Game on Wednesday in Cleveland. Monday's game will be broadcast on TBS.

Cruz has not played in a regular-season game since Aug. 4. He was hitting .269 with 27 home runs, 76 RBIs and a .511 slugging percentage at the time he was suspended.

He has been working out in instructional league and played in eight games, going 9-for-27 with four doubles, one home run and nine RBIs.

Cruz said he has been seeing some hard throwers in Arizona, although not with the same breaking stuff as he sees in the Major Leagues.

The Cubs fired manager Dale Sveum. I'm not surprised, they've done a terrible job developing Starlin Castro and Anthony Rizzo and they've got both locked up long-term and need to bring someone in who can develop young talent. I don't know if that is Joe Girardi, whose contract expires November 1 and who is from the Chicago area. I heard Tim Kurkjian saying on ESPN Radio yesterday that he doesn't think Girardi will manage this season because the Yankees roster is so old and he doesn't think the Cubs or Nationals would pay him what he wants, so he thinks he'll just work in TV until a job becomes available that he'd want.

You'd think the Nationals would be a fairly attractive job. They have a decent amount of talent.

i actually like the Indians too so dont care who wins... still think the Rays will prevail though... should be a fun one.
