Sox sweep the Yanks to extend the win streak to 10, plus Ellsbury stole home with the bases loaded - priceless!

haha the stealing of home was nice... Aaron Hill did it against Petite as well a few years back in TO.

And wow do the Yankees ever SUCK! I love it.

Funny how there are NO Yankees posters in this thread yet pretty much all season so far LOL

Yankees bullpen is thin, it was exposed big time over the weekend. Not to mention Joe Girardi is a horrible manager IMO, who is going to use up what's left of his bullpen by July if he does not watch out! Getting arod back wont matter if this is what they have to bring to the table with their pitching.

Problem is the Yankees starters are horrible so far as well, so there isn't much choice but to bring in relievers when your starter has 100 pitches through 4 innings. Petite has been the only good starter so far, and Joba hasn't been horrible, but Burnett and Sabathia both have ERAs over 4.8, plus Wang's got a wonderful 34.5 ERA. Girardi's job has got to be in serious jeopardy after not making the playoffs last year and starting out poorly this year after spending all that money.

Another main area of concern for the yankees is how and why Joba lost about 5mph off his fastball!

All right....the Yankee fan has arrived lol. Ya...we suck. Our starters have been out of wack and now our bullpen is decapitated. We had so many opportunities to win 2 out of 3 and we didn't take it. I think the Yankees went 4 for 22 with rsp on saturday. There's no excuse for it. We had a nice 6-0 lead and the bullpen comes in and kills it. Someone mentioned Joba is pitching slow. He has to ease up on his fastball since he's not a 1 inning person anymore. I think it was a mistake making him a starter. Girardi ran a good camp but he's not been producing. The team lacks what was so good about the 98,99, and 2000 streak...a will to win. It's a different team. Everyone blamed Torre...it clearly wasn't Torre's fault. We need pitching...plain and simple.

You need a general manager that knows more then how to write the biggest check possible, only thing keeping the yankees competitive for the last decade almost is the spending of millions or in this years case a billion dollars to field a team. Could never understand why cashman was highly regarded, most of those championship teams had nothing to do with him.

Unbelievible that after spending over a 1/4 of a billion dollars on starting pitching that they now need more.

I would have thought that you'd be a bit like myself, hoping that the Yanks and Sox split the series so that the Jays could get a bit more of a cushion in the lead. *LOL*

I'm very impressed with Toronto. I thought Tampa would be onto after what they did last season.

Such a frustrating season thus far for the home town Angels. They made some good off season moves, got the hitting and now can't win a game because 4/5th's of their starting rotation is on the DL along with two or three other regular bullpen pitchers. Very frustrating to watch them take a good sized lead only to watch it evaporate within the last couple of innings. Hopefully with the return of Santana and Lackey in the next week or two, they can start turning things around. Also, doesn't help that Shields has been giving up big innings as of late as well. Their normal go to guy with a rubber arm...ouch.

I'm very impressed too but we have no real closer and starters could potentially be a huge issue. So I am taking it series by series LOL

If the Jays are up there in late June then I think we're in business... in the mean time I am enjoying the quick start and loving how the future looks

NO ONE... wants to play the Blue Jays!!! Great baseball!

Exactly, let them fight it out amongst themselves and let the Jays keep winning series.

Because even with the Jays winning every series {but not every game} and the Sox winning 10 in a row has me for what is going to come next.

The Cardinals are such a good organization. Every year they cobble a team together around Pujols that performs better than it should based off expectations. They remind me currently of the 90's Braves in that way.

Finally with the 11th straight win the Sox catch and tie Toronto. I know it's too early to really care about the standings but I think that shows what a great start Toronto got off to.

Yep for sure. Like I said earlier, if they are around in late June than we are for real this year.

In the mean time, let's all enjoy the Yankees demise with their billion dollar team hehe.

Why only the Red Sox when the Cubs and Mets both have higher payrolls. At Least the Sox produce for what they spend which none of the other teams can claim! And the Indians are no slouch in that category also with over 80 million spent this season.
