Yeah maybe not, but they're both an improvement over Roberts. Besides, not that I follow the Yanks that much, but it seems like pitching is the issue more than offense anyway. Tanaka was a tough loss.

You actually have it reversed. Our pitching has actually benn pretty good after all the loses we've had with our starters. The offense is the problem (we needed a RF with pop and Marlon Byrd would have been perfect over Matt Kemp due to the money involved). Also, another solid starter wouldn't have hurt either. We didn't get either due to the penny pinching.

I stand corrected. I was looking at the roster and didn't really see a solid starter past Kuroda. I knew they were in on Byrd. Weird that he didn't end up going anywhere. It sounded like the Phillies wanted a lot for him.

I love that the Tigers got Price and the cheap cost for him too. They still need help in the pen and at least one more bat to replace either Avila or to play short. I believe you guys will fix your bullpen this month threw waivers. I believe what scared us off Byrd was that vesting option. When I heard that the M's were out of the running for Byrd, I felt that we had him in out hands.

Hope you're right about the pen. We got Soria last week, but that hasn't worked out so well yet.

I'm sure you guys can get that bat you're looking for off waivers too. A lot of guys will be put on waivers in the next few weeks.

Better than being the Jets lol and the Tigers have won the WS before where as the Bills well...

Besides 90% of your WS wins exist before you were even born so I really don't see how any of those wins are relevant in the historical context of our discussions.

Your Streak from 96-00 and your one lone win in 09 are all I would even consider in this discussion, lets look at the Tigers history during that time the team stunk. After the lockout in 94 the Tigers had a huge issue when Sparky quit no one wanted to be apart of this team, the Tigers turn around happened in 06 when the Yankees downfall started. Since 06 the Tigers have gotten better they just have not gotten over the hump where as your team just keeps going downward to a point where you cant even buy players anymore so think about that.

There is no denying the Yankees are a great historical team in context, but in light of recent events say the last 10 years you have been one of the more mid card teams.

The Tigers and Yankees play in two different divisions. They can both make the playoffs and make everyone here happy. Can't we all just get along?

For the people bashing the Tigers for not winning the big one yet? It sucks as a fan, but I would rather make it and not win it than not make it at all.

There's much more parity in MLB (which is what the league wanted and it's good for the game). The mighty Yankees don't really exist anymore.

Paul Goldschmidt went on the DL today with a broken hand. That really sucks for any D-Back fans or people (like me) that have him on their fantasy team. The worst part is that he was sitting for the first time in 49 games and came in to pinch hit in the ninth.
