Besides 90% of your WS wins exist before you were even born so I really don't see how any of those wins are relevant in the historical context of our discussions.

Your Streak from 96-00 and your one lone win in 09 are all I would even consider in this discussion, lets look at the Tigers history during that time the team stunk. After the lockout in 94 the Tigers had a huge issue when Sparky quit no one wanted to be apart of this team, the Tigers turn around happened in 06 when the Yankees downfall started. Since 06 the Tigers have gotten better they just have not gotten over the hump where as your team just keeps going downward to a point where you cant even buy players anymore so think about that.

There is no denying the Yankees are a great historical team in context, but in light of recent events say the last 10 years you have been one of the more mid card teams.

Let's not bring the Lions in the discussion . So 1984 then, which is the same time period in which you want to omit.

Lol easy to just omit history, but yet it still exists. My family has been Yankee fans since the 1910s, so all I heard about was Babe Ruth, Mantle, DiMaggio, Maris, Munson, Reggie, mattingly, etc growing up. All I need to think about is the 5 rings and the other 22 . Your MO is that you choke on the biggest stage.

2 straight extra inning loses while getting swept by the Padres. Braves are playing like absolute garbage right now, but it's almost all been in close games (though they did get destroyed on Friday).

Let's not forget they just dished out a top 5 pitcher contract for Tanaka an unproven MLB player. But yeah because they didn't sign Cano to a horrendous contract they are now penny pinchers (even though we have the second highest payroll in the league).
