I went to the game on Saturday. Beautiful ballpark. Awful outcome. The Tigers need to get their crap together. The Royals are only a half game back now. Plus they lost Soria and Anibal over the weekend. Now their bullpen is destroyed because of the game today, and they might have to push all their starters up a day because of Porcello coming out of the pen today. Ray will replace Porcello on Tuesday, but who goes for Anibal on Wednesday?

Any Cubs fans out there hearing any rumblings about when Soler is getting the call up? It sounds like Epstein is pretty adamant that he's leaving Bryant in the minors this year, but that Soler will get the call at some point.

It's been rumored for weeks that Soler will be called up soon, but the Cubs have stayed quiet about when Soler will be called up so it's all speculation. Soler is already on the 40-man roster so he'll be called up by September at the latest. Soler is signed through 2020 regardless of when he makes his MLB debut so there aren't contractual reasons to keep him in the minors like there are with Bryant.

Thanks for the info. Was trying to get a jump on my fantasy league. I missed out on Baez by about 10 minutes. I grabbed Bryant yesterday, but was thinking of dropping him for Soler since it sounds like Bryant isn't coming up after all.

The Cubs are going to keep Bryant in the minors so they can manipulate his service time to delay his arbitration and free agency. If he had a contract like Soler with a definitive end date he would have joined the Cubs months ago. My guess is regardless of what he does in spring training he starts next season in the minors and then gets called up sometime in April or May once the date has hit that delays free agency.

fate pretty much nailed it. Soler September most likely. Bryant definitely next year.

Once again the "offense" pulls a disappearing act (yeah, we scored 3 runs, but two of them were on errors). We lose the next two, and we can forget about the AL east. What's worse, we still have about 9 more games (about 25% of the games we have left ) against the O's and we're 3-8 against them so far. I know they would love nothing more than to eliminate us from the PO race.
