lol they came up with this incorrect conclusion 40 minutes after the game ended... Mad Bum should have gotten the win. If you compare effectiveness, one was clearly more effective...

How was he more effective? He gave up more hits and pitched in less stressful situations. Affeldt was not ineffective (he was very effective), so by the rules, he got the win.

If it's such a clear and obvious point, then why were the 3 official scorers not unanimous in that decision? And then they polled other reporters in the press box lol. Yeah ok...

Because one of them was being stupid? It makes a great story for him to get 3 wins, but by the rules, Affeldt gets the win.

take Bumgarner out of the situation and it would be a much different story


it's sad when a team has to rely on one pitcher to win the series, and what does that do to the other pitches SF has, it makes them feel worthless, or not a part of the team, when as soon as they do something wrong its like oh "lets go to Bumgarner, he can win it for us"

not that I want anyone to get hurt, but I would have like to see how the series would have changed if SF was in the same position but Bumgarner couldn't play any of his 3 games for some reason. I feel in that situation, it might not even have gone the best of 7, and you might have seen the royals up 3 games to 0 after the first 3 games


btw Bochy is only good since the padres didn't want him any more
it's a known fact that once someone on the padres or chargers leave san diego, they get a ring, or become really successful with the other team

Hardly "massive" ratings. Game 7 only drew about 30% higher TV ratings than last week's regular season Redskins-Cowboys game on MNF. Here's a visual for what's happened to the World Series.

You know it's a completely different television environment for ratings and the Super Bowl has become an event unto itself, watched by people that haven't seen a single NFL game all year. The ratings for the NFL would be far different if they played 160 plus games a year.

The World Series this year was weird, Games 1 and 2 were blow outs, Game 3 was a close hard fought game, Games 4/5/6 blow outs, Game 7 a well deserved hard fought game.

An ace named Cain was out for the year and Lincecum is not starter material any more. What the hell were they supposed to do? You should be mad at Yost who over manages his team into the ground. Starters turned into middle relief pitchers starting games is an annoying thing to watch.
