The ineptitude of the Cubs offense is really starting to make me angry. In their last 13 games they've only scored more than 2 runs twice. Their pitching has been fairly good so they've been 6-7 during that span, but if they want to remain a playoff contender their bats need to get going.

It's not making me angry but it does have me confused and frustrated. It's not like they don't have players that can hit or capable of hitting. They have been facing some pretty tough pitching staffs during the last 3 weeks so that has to play some factor into it. They have the 6th best record in the league as of yesterday so I can't complain too much after the past few seasons. They also would be in the wild card game as of today. The schedule gets lighter the 2nd half of the season so hopefully they can gain some momentum down the stretch.

The entire Braves lineup tonight is players that were not in the organization last year.

Jace Peterson - part of Justin Upton trade with San Diego
Cameron Maybin - part of Craig Kimbrel/Melvin Upton trade with San Diego

Juan Uribe - trade with Dodgers

Besides his team, what's changed? He's on a team that isn't giving him many opportunities for saves. He's only being floated because the GM is realizing he butchered their farm system for a few guys for 1 year, and Kimbrel could get a better return.

Nope. Through his first few years, he's been better. But it all comes down to the great unkown... longevity.
