I like Reyes and will miss him, but this was a nice trade for us. We needed to shake things up a bit.

I'd like Price if he agrees to a reasonable extension. Trade Nova if he's worth anything. They took Greene.

If his agent is Scott Boras (and I believe it is), then that's not happening since Boras always take his clients to the open market.

price is worth a top prospect and a player if* he comes with an extension... But Unless the tigers get blown away by an offer, I don't see him being traded

Players who get traded during their walk year usually don't sign a extension. So, if the Tigers do trade him, they are really not getting a high quality prospect. They could get a bunch of B team prospects.

Giants have $50 million coming off the books this year and will def open there wallets with Lincecum and Hudson in there final years... But we don't have the prospect pool to get a Price or Hammels caliber player

The Philadelphia Phillies have told several teams interested in acquiring Cole Hamels that they'd like to get their "best" offers by Wednesday, sources told ESPN.com.

The team would then make a decision about where -- and whether -- to trade him.

The Phillies have continued to speak with a large number of teams -- a group known to include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Houston Astros, Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox -- about Hamels.

However, sources said that in the case of about half of that group, the Phillies initiated those talks in an attempt to reopen discussion about players whom those clubs had said previously they'd be unwilling to trade.

I've read the Giants could have a real shot at Zack Grienke after the season. From speculation I've read he won't leave California and will only seriously consider the Dodgers, Angels, and Giants.

It will be impossible to outbid the Dodgers, but would be nice to have him and Bumgarner on top of our rotation

Giants aren't desperate for pitching though, Heston has Come out of no where and having a great year, he's by far our #2 this year, his slider is deadly and leads the league in double plays tied with Gibson and Pelfry from Minnesota at 22

Meanwhile the Jays (whose delusional GM thinks they are in a playoff race) lose at home to the Phillies with both Devon Travis and Jose Bautista getting injured in the game. Someone needs to stop Anthopoulos from gutting the farm system even more with terrible trades, this team isn't going anywhere.

Not a chance. This team has shown nothing to make me think that's possible. Same crap every year. The best move their GM could make would be firing the mistake he re-hired three years ago.
