supersix4..Matsui and Damon both may be gone @ the end of this season. It's a shame because I really like Damon. Hollliday would be a great addition.

Dye is a FA this year aswell him with quality protection, he would just be a freak.

Ya...for some odd reason...Joe thinks he can still win the game. Heck, even Lee is getting hits now lol. I put on 24.

It was completely unnecessary to ditch AJ after 3 innings.

Haha, technically 2 innings. Don't be fooled that it was the 3rd inning, because there were still 0 outs in the inning.

lol I called it they should have charged yankees fans 1 million per person to join the club for a day and play against cliff lee!

The more I think about it, the more I don't like the idea that Burnett was even starting tonight.

You know you're going up against Lee, so the chances to win are already slim.

You know you don't need to win, so you might as well just assume you'll lose, and throw Gaudin out there, and if he happens to win, so be it.

The advantage is that you get Burnett on full rest for game 6, AT HOME, where he seems to pitch significantly better.

Now we have to worry about how Pettitte will do on short rest, and since he's 37 years old, that's a cause for concern.

I'm surprised Girardi didn't have Gaudin waiting to eat up innings tonight, in the event that Burnett couldn't last. Maybe it's a sign he's saving Gaudin for game 6, in case of an emergency, if they find out Pettitte can't pitch on 3-days rest.

No reason to panic, I'm just questioning what Girardi was thinking.

I didn't want the Yankees to win tonight, but now that they're 5 runs down, I kind of want them to, just to ruin the spirits of the Philly fans, who think this game is a lock for the win column.

Thats what I was saying lol I'd have let them have the game got Lee out of the way and take it on home.

Yeah, if the Yankees blow the series, I think pitching Burnett in game 5 will be debated forever.

Looks like the Yankees might have something going here.
