If they get the #2 seed (or even the #1 seed, but I doubt anyone is catching the Royals record wise). You currently have the #3 seed (we have the #2 seed) so they would be on the road for game 1&2 if things were to stay as they currently are. So you're really jumping the gun over nothing at this point.

Just can't expect to consistently win when you have three all-star caliber players sitting on the bench and no depth. SMDH. So incredibly frustrating.

Pretty bad when you have a pitcher pinch hitting in the 9th.

Giants got Marlon Byrd today, which should help the struggling offense. He's going to start tomm. night in LF. 19 HR's on the upside, .237 and 101 k's on the down. Hopefully being on a contender will spark the avg. a bit. Offense is dead right now. Really need to split this series with Pitts. and tread water until the Dodger series.

I don't think the Giants could hit a beach ball right now with RISP. I can't remember a time this year when they've been so dreadful. It's taken three errors to get runs tonight. It feels like an automatic DP or SO when a leadoff man gets on.

Well, at least the Dodgers are in a slump just as bad.

4 walkoff wins in the last 8 games for the Stros. Love the excitement and the feeling of a special season. The great thing about it all, is with all of the youth in the organization, even if we don't get to the playoffs and win we still have a bright future.

Pine tar does nothing more than give a pitcher a better grip on the ball and doesn't impede the ball's movement (unlike with vaseline). With that said, it is considered a foreign substance and is banned. Players and managers have no issue with the pine tar as long as it's not seen (unlike the case with Michael Pineda with pine tar on the neck). Batters would prefer that pitchers have access to a pine tar substance so they can have a better grip on the ball than one slipping from the pitcher's hand and cracking the batter in the head (or worse, in the face).
