Shocking, they lost by 1 run again today.

They better get their heads out of their asses. If the Yankees win tonight they will only be 2.5 games back with 3 games vs. the Jays starting tomorrow.

I would be concerned about the offense if I was you for the simple fact that your team's offense is HR or bust (like us). In the playoffs you're going to face a teams top 3-4 starters and they are not going to be the types that give up HR's.

Anyhow, we took care of business in Queens (people were writing us off like we were expected to get swept) and the RS helped us out (thanks guys). Now we need to take at least 2 out of 3 (which would leave us 1 1/2 back and very, very much more than just alive. If we sweep (which is very unlikely even before Tanaka we being skipped and now is super unlikely) we'll be 1/2 ahead. If people thought the last time we were there felt like a playoff series, this time it's going to feel like a WS. Hopefully the Jays fans do act like douche bags.

Well, we can at least put last night as a throw away. With that said, if we want any chance to win the division, we have to win tonight and tomorrow. Plain and simple.

Jays may have a 2.5 game lead, but there is no way in hell they are holding onto it with that bullpen. They have given up so many runs the last four games and this team has reverted back to it's pre-trade deadline self without Tulo, playing their worst baseball in September.

We need to take tomorrow's game to bring it to 1.5.

I would put my money on the Yankees tomorrow. All they have to do is get to the bullpen. Donaldson is slumping and the offense sucks without Tulo.

Oh come on. Have some faith in your team. I believe we are going to do it! I believe! You should too.

RIP Yogi Berra

Quote:
The lovable legend of Yogi Berra, that ain’t ever gonna be over.

The Hall of Fame catcher renowned as much for his dizzying malapropisms as his unmatched 10 World Series championships with the New York Yankees, died Tuesday. He was 90.

Berra, who played in 15 straight All-Star Games, never earned more than $65,000 a season. He died on the same date, Sept. 22, as his big league debut 69 years earlier.

RIP Yogi

Grew up a lifelong Yankee fan, and Yogi was easily one of the most respected men in the game of baseball, even years/decades after his retirement. This is a huge loss for the NY and MLB community, and we'll all miss him dearly.

Thanks for the memories, Yogi.

Sorry, 22 years of losing and a season full of bullpen implosions will do that to me. They should have a much better record with that run differential they have.

I viewed Yogi (along with Whitey Ford) as the godfather/s of the Yankees. We'll be wearing #8 on our left sleeve tonight (I'm pretty certain for the rest of the season as well):

If we lose tonight, we can forget about the division. If we win, then it's really up for grabs. These last two games have been ALCS caliber, and I expect nothing less tonight.

Some crazy stats I've heard today about Yogi:

Bryce Harper already has 25 more strikeouts than Yogi had in his entire 19-year career.

He only struck out 12 times in 656 plate appearances in the playoffs.

That's why Yogi is a all time great, and part of how the game is now.

Oh wow! I did not know this until now.

I'm not a Yankees fan by any stretch of the imagination, but this great man had my highest admiration. One of the greats.

Well, we can forget about the division now (we're 3 back and our elimination # is 8 with 11 games to go which is not insurmountable, but we are going to need a good amount of help while we go at least 8-3 with these last 11 games) and just focus on holding on to the 1st WC spot.

No stress for me this Oct as my team will be watching from home, (most cuddled with there 3 world series rings ) But I love parity in sports and I'm ready for a new champ

I kind of want a Jays/Cubs World Series, which would probably break the record for most runs scored
