Cubs wont win relying on the long ball, doesn't work in the playoffs when pitching takes over...

And yes it's a dumb rule should be a judgment call... That runner easily scores

Sucks that it appears the Cubs season is about to end but I'm still happy that they were able to make the playoffs at all and not only win the wild card game but also the LDS. Going into the season I thought the team was at least a year away due to their youth and next year's team should be even better as the only starting position player set to hit free agency is Dexter Fowler and they've got their 4 top starting pitchers locked up. It's also a deep free agent pitching class so they should be able to add another solid pitcher.

We did make progress as a franchise. Now we have to make this an annual thing of being in the postseason and win one on occasion. That's what make will this the next few years a true success. The days of the one year wonder for this franchise should be over. Have to improve starting pitching for next season.

As a Yankees fan, I've learned that first hand. Need to be able to manufacture runs and move runners to win in the playoffs.

That being said..I'm really surprised that the Cubs are on the verge of being swept. I thought for sure they would put up a fight because they do have a very good team this year. I don't know if it's a case where the Mets are so unbelievably hot right now, especially with their starting pitching, or if the Cubs are having their usual meltdown in the playoffs. Maybe a little of both.
