No big surprise, Don Mattingly and the Dodgers are parting ways. The Marlins reportedly have interest in Mattingly so it will be interesting to see if he ends up there.

I'm sure Washington will have interest as well.

It's been such a rough stretch for Mets fans. 2006 and 07 broke my heart. This was the first time I've ever seen them do a full gut and rebuild. It had to be done. The day they let Reyes walk was the low point for me in following this team for 27 years. Reyes and Wright were our home grown stars, it wasn't supposed to end like that.

A stinky on-field product and money troubles caused this team to drastically change the way they do business. They've been forced to develop their own prospects instead of constantly dealing them for high priced declining veterans. The Sandy Alderson plan has been slow and frustrating at times, but now that it's paying off it's pretty exciting. I can't believe we're going to the World Series, and I like our chances. Being able to run those 4 starters + Colon + Familia out there against a team that doesn't see them often has got to be an advantage. This is our chance now, and any Mets fan can tell you how hard it can be to get back there. Lets go Mets!

Good for the Mets. They are due. Usually 1 every 30 years.

Exactly 15 years since their last WS appearance. Nice.

If it's not the Cubs' year, then hopefully it's the Mets' or Blue Jays'.

It's been 29 since they actually won one.

I love that last WS appearance by the Mets

100% agree with everything you said. I was upset when they let Reyes go without even tendering any kind of offer, I really kind of hate that he's not there to enjoy it. I understand this is a business, and the Marlins definitely overpaid for him.

Alderson has made some damn good moves, sending Dickey for d'Arnaud and Synderguaard, getting Cespedes even though they had to give up Fulmer to get him. Some of Minaya's picks are paying off as well, Degrom, Murphy, Duda, Familia, Flores and Matz.

I agree it will be a tough matchup for any team they play, but either team in my opinion has tougher outs then the Cubs and Dodgers. Cubs hitters are raw and kind of undisciplined, they struck out a ton. The Royals line-up scares me a little more then the Jays, they always grind and put the ball in play and are tough to strike out.

But with that being said, neither team has a great set of 4 starters like the Mets do. I really do like the Mets chances!

How convenient. Royals get a breather with the rain delay, and now they're back in the lead so quickly.

C'mon, Jays. Get it together to survive at least one more game.

Meh. Toronto squandered a perfect opportunity to come back in the 9th.

Congrats to the Royals, though I still feel the rain delay ultimately benefitted them.

Sucks for the Blue Jays fans who have waited 20+ years to smell success again.

Go Mets!

That was beyond pathetic. 0-12 with runners in scoring position? Can't even put the ball in play with a runner on 3rd and no outs? What a bunch of chokers. I would have let Goins hit over Navarro. Now we get to watch Synergaard and D'Arnaud in the World Series. And the Jays have no pitching rotation next year so that was their one opportunity. Thanks a lot AA.
