Gary Sanchez has 18 homeruns in 45 games, the fastest in MLB history. Just amazing what this kid is doing

edit: Make that 19 homeruns. My god. I thought the talk of him possibly be AL Rookie of the Year was silly, but he's making a strong case for himself.

It's possible that 7 teams in the American League can finish tied at 89-73. That would be a 3-way tie in the East with the Red Sox, Blue Jays and Orioles, 2 team tie in the Central with the Indians and Tigers and then a 5-way tie with the Astros and Mariners and whichever 2 teams don't win the East and Central tiebreakers.

It is not very likely but I would love to see that happen.

Sometimes deaths of complete strangers can hit you right in the face. This is one of them for me. Good Lord is this sad. 24 years old and so full of life.

He just announced last week his girlfriend is pregnant, too.

Literally woke up to a gut punch this morning. He always made everyone smile in the clubhouse. I have to say it's so sad that someone's poor decision ended the lives of 3 men. Heart will be heavy today fellas.

Man, I remember just a few days ago watching him pitching against Yasiel Puig and Puig blew him a kiss before Fernandez struck him out and flashed his amazing smile at Puig.

Was the accident in the middle of the night? I can't see any other way someone would crash into a jetty at full speed. No lifejackets on is another epic fail. He basically got two of his friends killed due to his own stupidity it sounds like. I feel worse for his friends than him.

We don't have enough to speculate on anything. It wasn't his boat, but it's way too early to try and place blame.

But he was at the game last night, so it would have been after 11 or so.
