The Cubs lineup is a lot better than the Jays, they won't get shut down by the rest of the Indians rotation.

What rotation? At this point the rotation is Kluber, Tomlin and Bauers pinky. Doesn't matter though cause somehow they've shut down the Red Sox, the blue jays and for one game at least the cubs. 8-1 in the postseason. Somehow the Indians have managed to overcome that underdog status and not only win but dominate with great pitching and timely hitting.

I'm hoping this is the start of the Indians offense waking up after the ALCS.

This is the first time in my life a Cleveland team has taken game one of championship series. Indians lost game 1s in 95 and 97 and cavs lost game 1s in 07,15 and 16 finals. I like it!

If they can pull this off it would mean even more to me then the cavs championship 5 months ago, baseball was my first love when it came to sports.

Almost everybody loves a underdog story. Even people who don't watch baseball can relate to the Cubs.

Indians haven't won since the 50s either.

Nobody outside Chicago cared about the Cubs unless it was an SNL sketch or Steve Bartman joke till this year.

cubs are not underdogs, they are a big market team that spends a lot of money. The cubs story is not one of the little teams that could.

That home plate ump was terrible last night for both teams. His strike zone was incredibly inconsistent and you could see both team's pitchers getting upset. I'm not using that as an excuse at all for the Cubs loss because he was just as bad with the Cleveland pitchers.

while this is true, they didn't exactly buy the team that they have on the field right now. of the major contributors, only Zobrist and Lester were big free agent signings.

that is factually untrue.

the Cubs used to have all of their games on WGN which was (still is, I think) a superstation like TBS in Atlanta. their fan base might not be as large as the Yankees, but they are (and have always been) in the top 3 to 5.
