Amazing comeback by the Yanks, going be interesting tonight with the pitching and see how they fare against Keuchel this time. As a previous poster mentioned, it really is great to see this team dig in and refuse to go down.

I feel worse about Keuchel. He owns the Yanks.

In 1996, they had gone through a heartbreaking ALDS the year before losing to the Mariners in game 5 and they were one of the best teams in 1994 along with the Expos but the strike shortened the season. This team has come out of nowhere. Not saying they will win it all but you really have to appreciate how far they have come. Experience will indeed serve them well for the future.

One other thing to note...there are no soft landings for the Yanks either. They have to beat two 100 plus win teams to get to the world series and if they do get there, a third 100 plus win team will likely be waiting for them. Very difficult path to a championship and no home field advantage at all except in the wild card game.
I’m here at the stadium right now. I’m standing in the front row of the Toyota terrace as I’m typing this post. It looks like that the Atros are not going to take BP.

When Dallas was taken out of the game, all you heard chanting was “shower” for the rest of the game. One more game to go and two chances to do it. One has to like our chances.

Had I seen your post yesterday when you sent it, I would have popped over to say hello. What an amazing game to watch in person yesterday. Crowd was into it right from the first pitch and taking down Keuchel was so important. Now if Verlander spins a gem tomorrow night, you still have Sabathia in game 7 without having to worry about Verlander and Keuchel(except perhaps out of the bullpen on 2 days rest). Really great to see Judge and Sanchez continue to have big hits in this lineup and I cannot say enough about Bird. He keeps this up, you will have to include his name in the same sentence as Judge and Sanchez.

And as far as Tanaka goes, I have to say that I am a diehard Yankees fan who watches most regular season games when I'm home. So I've seen just about all of his starts this year, including the Sunday night game against the Astros, 2nd game of a double header, where they bombed him in the first 2 innings. For him to get his act together late in the season and have performances like yesterday, that's money well spent by the Yankees right there. He is back to being the ace of this staff and if he opts out...I bring him back next year because he's a big game pitcher.

I was the guy in the front row in the corner of the Toyota terrace (I have a Yankee on field fitted and a blue hoodie). I agree with everything you've said except for bringing back Tanaka if he opts out. Even though he's been pitching awesome lately, he has a partial tear in his throwing arm. No one knows if and when it would tear more when he would need surgery and be lost for at least a year. Also, he's not going to opt out because he's not going to get anywhere near what his current deal with the Yanks because of that tear.

PS One more.

I was in the right field upper deck, row 3. Home run territory, although it would take quite a poke to get it up there. Maybe Judge could do it. I hear what you're saying about Tanaka and his tear is a concern of mine as well but he is only 28 and if his arm does go, he misses a little over a year and then he'll be back. Guys come back fairly strong from Tommy John surgery. But you're probably right in that he won't opt out.

What do you do with Sabathia? He's probably going to want a 2 year deal so that would be the main problem. I'd definitely bring him back for one though, as Chance Adams and Justus Sheffield will likely need another year of the minors before being major league ready.

LAD dropping one yesterday: Difficult to win with 9 LOB and Granderson playing... Only good play of Granderson: having Maddon ejected (on a blown call by the umpiring crew)
CK22 to the rescue !

I'd give him a 1yr 10mil deal with a option for a second at best. I'm not sure he'll leave for another team that's offering a 2yr deal since he loves living in NY and with what this team is at.

Yeah, I'd do the same. It's scary to think about what the Yankees could become in the next couple of years. I'd probably trade Betances though. I'm sure Betances will correct whatever is wrong with him but with Robertson/Kahnle/Green, why keep him when you can probably get a nice package of minor leaguers for him?

With the Dodgers taking care of business in Chicago, I'm really hoping the Yanks can get one in Houston. If it's Yankees/Dodgers in the World Series, you might as well pull all of the new tv shows off television because the rating would be out of this world for that series.
