The Yankees and Joe Girardi are parting ways. That means 3 of the 8 playoff teams will have new managers next year with the Red Sox and Nationals replacing their managers as well.

Cannot believe that Girardi is out just as this team is about to become dominant again. I have no idea who could even replace him. There are no obvious choices.

Definitely an odd decision. Yankees were projected to be a middle of the pack team this year and came very close to making the World Series.

Great game last night. I went to a watch party inside Minute Maid Park and the emotions were so up and down from the 8th inning on.

Surprised Girardi is not coming back to the Yankees. Add in that the Red Sox fired their manager also. Don't lose to the Astros this postseason or you get fired. Dave Roberts better win or he could lose more than just a World Series.

That was an enormous win for the Astros last night. I was about ready to "done" them multiple times last night but they kept fighting back. Now they have a chance to prove that they are dominant at home and close out the series there. Going to be tough but at the very least, if they win 2 out of 3, they'll only need to win 1 more in LA.

As for the Yanks, they must have their reasons for getting rid of Girardi. I'm sure they have someone else in mind to take over.

I was tired too (watched delayed in Europe), so I quit watching after the 3rd HOU batter reached in the 10th (LAD down 3-5 and runner on 2nd with no outs...)

As I watched the game, I was very surprised to see Stripling enter the game (I still remember he allowed both batters he faced to reach in G3 @Cubs, the only "blemish" on an awesome bullpen performance in the series).
And I would have let Morrow pitch to at least one more batter, and was surprised he called on Jansen so soon.

I think it was a lousy thing he did but I don't think a guy should be suspended in the World Series for it. Make it a 2018 suspension. Gurriel will probably get drilled by a Dodgers pitcher at some point this series regardless. He'll get justice.

It is a 2018 suspension. It should be a longer suspension. I hope he loses any sponsorships he may have. There's no excuse for crap like that,especially on the biggest stage of the sport.

Yeah, maybe 10 games would have been more appropriate. A 5 game suspension in MLB is very little given they play 162 games.
