OMG, what a game!! One of the greatest I have ever seen.

It's 12:47 am Central Time and I am too pumped to even think about sleep. Ugh, I hate having to get up for work at the crack of dawn.

Man, do I love baseball.

i knew i s/h stayed up to watch the game last night.

watched all of game 4 Saturday night, yesterday we had trick or treating for the kids all afternoon.....so the cold/fresh air got to me and I crashed around 9:30.

What a game! Can anyone loan us some bullpen pitchers? I was so glad we won it right there in the 10th because the only arms we had left in the bullpen were Liriano and Giles. I would have conceded the loss if I saw them come in to the game.

No doubt the balls are being juiced imo, was being discussed on pretty much every sports talk show I have listened to this morning and all were pretty unanimous that something is going on with the balls in this series.

The strike zone was a mess, but it affected both sides. And to even think that there's some agenda to have the Astros win is beyond ludicrous. Take the aluminum foil hat off dude ..Also, your line about being an objective observer is hilarious.

I think that was the last question that was asked to him last night. When I heard his response my mouth dropped to the floor. I'm not going to criticize the coach, he's been managing very good. In fact he manage well enough yesterday to win. Also, this is my 3rd post in this forum and in my 2nd post (#30012) I mentioned how I had nothing against the Astros and I still don't. I stated may the best team win. I'm a Dodger supporter but that doesn't make me dishonest. I want to see fair play.

It was fair. It would have been unfair if the stros were not getting the same strike zone....but they were. Umps are not perfect, but when they are somewhat consistent for both teams, the players have to adjust.

I'm an Astros fan so some could say I'm biased. My opinion is the strike zone was bad for both teams. There were more strikes called against the Dodgers but that could be because Keuchel (and the other Astros pitchers) specifically targeted those locations once they saw they were being called strikes. If the strike zone is being called like that then it is on the pitchers to take advantage of it and the batters have to react and not take those pitches for strikes.

Exactly. When a pitcher sees the ump calling borderline strikes or a strike that is normally called a ball, and it is in a specific area (or all around) they always try to take advantage of that. On the flip side, pitchers will get a little frustrated when an ump is calling a ball a strike then all of the sudden call that same pitch a ball. The pitchers all want consistency. The hitters want a perfect strike zone. All players have to adjust when an ump has an expanded zone.

As a hitter, you have to learn what is being called and protect the plate. There were still a few called last night that did seem extreme, but to quote Ron Washington, "That's the way baseball go."

As I die-hard Dodgers fan, my heart was beating so hard during the game, that I couldn't watch after Altuve made it 7-7. Learning how the game went, I'm glad I didn't as I would probably be in a hospital morgue as we speak...
