Also, crazy news...

Crazy storms in the north impacted Toronto's Rogers Centre as ice fallen from the neighboring CN Tower came crashing down, resulting in roof damage that left some nice holes.

Also, in Toronto, their opponent (Kansas City) had some scary experience on the bus ride due to the ice. A large chunk of ice fell off one of the team busses, striking the trailing bus’ windshield. The glass shattered and shards hit the driver. Pitcher Blaine Boyer then jumped from his seat to grab the wheel and get the bus stopped. The driver sustained cuts to his face but would be OK.

Jose Bautista signs a minor league deal with the Braves. I had no idea how far his stats had fallen the last two seasons, but they're still good enough to plug in further down the starting lineup. Did I miss something on why he didn't get a look until now? Injury? High salary demands (until he found out no one was bidding)?

The Yanks are starting to get really good at winning games they have no business winning. Couldn't touch the ball at the plate for 8 innings, striking out left and right against Verlander, and then score 4 in the 9th off of Ken Giles, who proceeded to punch himself in the face while walking off the mound. One of the most bizarre things I've ever witnessed on a baseball field.

Hysterical. Yanks need to split these next 2. 5-2 road trip against Anaheim and Houston? Can't complain with that, especially when Stanton hasn't done much of anything this trip, and the entire season for that matter.

The Astros fans are all over Giles but do not blame the offense which has not been good this year and looked really bad yesterday against 8 innings pitched by the Yankees bullpen after the starter was pulled because of injury after 1 inning.

Keuchel is the one pitcher in the Astros rotation this year that has not pitched well. So the Yankees could take the game again today and I would be the one having to hope for a series split. I know Keuchel has owned the Yankees but something is not right with him. Not sure if he is hiding another injury like he did last year.

Before the season began, we all knew the bullpen would not be the strongest unit, but I didn't expect this...
I hope the FO doesn't panic and trade the farm for Machado, don't fix a problem that doesn't exist...
We still score more runs than we allow so the actual record is a bit misleading... even if the 9.0 game deficit over the Dbacks will not be easily erased...

The Astros will be fine offensively. Keuchel seems to be an every other year pitcher. I remember back in 2015 when he carved up the Yanks in the wild card game, he was great that year. Then he hid the injury in 2016 and struggled. He was great last year and now again this year, he's struggling.

Awful news for the Mets last night with deGrom hurting himself on a swing at the plate. He hyperextended his elbow and everyone is waiting for the MRI results. Talk radio in NY is blowing up over this, as you would expect. This might not be a popular opinion for some, I understand that, but I am totally against the pitcher hitting. These guys get paid to pitch, not hit. Let them go out and get hurt pitching. I just don't understand it, especially in this day and age where pitchers are getting hurt left and right. As good as Ohtani is...could you imagine how much of a disaster it would be for the Angels if he came up with a serious injury while hitting or running the bases? That would destroy their team on two fronts.
