The MLB commish talks expansion possibilities:

“Portland, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Nashville in the United States, certainly Montreal, maybe Vancouver, in Canada. We think there’s places in Mexico we could go over the long haul.”

I can't see Nashville being a real possibility. The city just spent $91 million on a park for their Triple-A team that couldn't be expanded for an MLB team and is preparing to spend $275 million on a stadium for an MLS team.

10-year Major League veteran, former All-Star and Silver Slugger Award winner Billy Butler (who hasn't played since 2016 but still hasn't officially retired yet), has been playing in a rec softball league in Idaho. And of course, it's going how you would expect it to for him.

It's amazing to me that the Yankees fired Joe Girardi last season because he didn't relate to the players enough and was too hard on them, particularly Gary Sanchez since they are both catchers. Then last night happened when the Yankees essentially lost the game because Sanchez couldn't be bothered to run out a ground ball at the end of the game or run after a cross up wild pitch, allowing a runner to score all the way from 2nd base. I don't care how talented Sanchez is or how many balls he can pop out of the ballpark...he needs to be taught a lesson here. He's hitting .190 and his defense has been terrible. Not hustling on two plays should be an instant demotion to triple A.

wins activated RHP Ervin Santana from the 60-day disabled list.

Santana will make his 2018 debut on Wednesday in Toronto after missing the first four months of the season due to complications stemming from February surgery on his right middle finger. The veteran starter pitched fairly well in his last minor league rehab outing at Triple-A Rochester and could have some fantasy streaming appeal down the stretch. Taylor Motter was designated for assignment by the Twins in a corresponding roster move.

Well, since Kenley Jansen went to the DL (5 days ago), LAD's opponents scored the winning run in their last AB 3 f**** times ! LAD surrendered 8 runs in those games.
On Saturday, they led 2-0 and were 1 out away from victory: 3-run HR for the ROX, lost 2-3
On Sunday, the ROX walked-off on a base-loaded walk with 2 outs
On Monday, LAD were 1 STRIKE away from winning, they gave up 4 runs after hitting a batter on a 2-2 count with 2 outs

Another loss in the 9th for LAD.
Both the Giants and ROX have negative run diff. so they won't make it. It will be a race with the Dbacks and I still believe LAD will get to the playoffs (they have the best run diff. in the NL !), but they won't last long with that bullpen (although the MLB playoffs are a crap shot so you never know).
