Terrible call, but certainly not the main reason the Astros lost. If it had been in the 8th/9th inning, if the score had ended 3-2 or 2-1 and the Astros had 4 hits for the game I think I'd feel a little worse for them, but with a dozen men left on base and horrendous baserunning decisions there was more to blame than a 1st inning bad umpire's call and their CYA supervisors. It's not Tarasco/Maier/Rich Garcia bad or Jorge Orta/Don Denkinger bad, but it's certainly up there with WWA Kent Hrbek/Drew Coble, and Infield Fly rule/Sam Holbrook

But what a bizarre mirror image 9th inning -- bases loaded, 2 outs for both teams and astounding diving catches from the OF saving 2-3 additional runs.
At least Cora has a reason to keep Kimbrel on the bench tonight -- what a disaster, must have something to do with his early professional training and certainly meshes well with his rookie season

Yea I thought for sure it'd be Joe Kelly for the 9th. But yea, much better outing for Kimbrell tonight, and it's World Series time for the Red Sox next week!

Cora will ride or die with him. It’s his guy and he has faith on him, he earned tho throughout the entire season.

Austin Barnes’s AB in the Bot5 of G5 was beyond HUGE (all he did was: tied the game, showed that patience and short swing works and kept Kershaw in the game). I sure hope it is the turning point of the series.

I'm with Al Leiter, I hate the way the Brewers don't use their starters for more than a few innings. Dodgers all the way.

Why would they change that rule? I know it's weird that a relief pitcher can get a win for a 1/3 of an inning pitched but for me the rule makes perfect sense. A starter should need to pitch more than half the game to consider being a key factor in the game and be eligible for the win.

Don't give me another reason to want to pick Craig Counsell in the face.

What a great final. Like both teams so I'll be happy wither way (no more strokes watching Kimbrel pitch for me this postseason).
