Well that was a fun game. Certainly one of the greatest games in WS history. I;m not sure it beats some of the Game 7 wins (1960, 1991, 1997, 2001)
It certainly has the single all-time classic weirdest single inning in history -- 13th. I guess Kinsler's trip in the grass and throw the ball away instead of game ending 3rd out won't quite go down as a "Buckner," though it almost should. Boston's 1-4 hitters combined to go 0-28 |

yes huge assist by Kinsler to let Muncy score on that wide throw..
kept wanting the Dodgers to drop down a bunt and test out Nunez but gotta give Mad Max credit.. he followed that near game ender with an oppo.. whew.. Eovaldi was wicked for the Sox but probably has pitched himself out the next 2 games.. |

I really appreciated the symmetry of Walker Buehler throwing over 100 pitches to start the game on LA's side, and Eovaldi going for almost that number to end the game for Boston.
Hopefully tonight's match-up of TBA vs. TBA will be at least half as good. |

and the decision to bring Jansen in again in the 8th only to see him give up a tying HR.. and to top it all off he decides to 'save' Jansen from additional pitches in the 9th??? yeah that worked out well.. we'll see if the Dodgers want to even go back to cold Boston or just head into the off-season.. went from a tied up series to the brink of elimination.. in the span of 3 innings.. |

Just one to go BoSox...
Sticking it to them in Los Angeles would be even sweeter! Show the Dodgers that acquiring Manny Machumpo didn't bring them any better results than last years results in the World Series. Could be even a worse showing. They going to have Kershaw start game 5? If they win, will he start game 6? Then, game 7? Pfft. |

He’s not any different than he previously was. If anything, LA life should straighten him out. On topic: Red Sox looking good. Too much for this Dodgers squad. Should be over shortly. |

Congratulations to the Red Sox organization and their fans.
On a Dodger note, if the club decides to extend Clayton he needs to agree to a pay cut if not then I appreciate everything he did in a Dodger uniform and I sincerely wish him the best. Sure I would like him to be a career Dodger but he is now a 2nd or 3rd starter on the staff. I hope this offseason is a very good one now that they reset their luxury tax threshold. Mets strange hire of Brodie Van Wagenen as new GM Brodie Van Wagenen looked fabulous on the dais Tuesday with his designer suit and blue-and-orange tie, flaunted his brilliant speaking skills, and exuded an aura of confidence throughout the press conference. Van Wagenen, 44, is extremely bright, talented, has a deep baseball background, and is one of the best in the entire industry negotiating players’ contracts. But up until a day ago, when he was officially decertified by the Major League Players Association, he was a player agent. And, until Tuesday, he had never worked a single day in a baseball front office, with no experience as a farm director, a scouting director, or even as a propeller head in a team’s analytical department. Today, he is considered a traitor, at least by his former colleagues. My God, wasn’t it just nine months ago when Van Wagenen, the co-head of the baseball division at CAA (Creative Artists Agency) openly accused MLB owners of collusion? He also threatened that players might be willing to boycott spring training in solidarity, never mind that it would have violated federal laws, in which the National Labor Relations Board would have issued an immediate injunction. Four months ago, Van Wagenen was attacking the Mets. He threatened them at the All-Star Game saying they should either sign his prized client, ace Jacob deGrom, to a long-term contract or trade him. The Mets have a huge advantage at the negotiating table now. CAA represents seven Mets players on their 25-man roster, and Van Wagenen knows everything about his former clients. He knows whether they really want to stay in New York or not. He knows the intimate deals of their health issues. Most important, there can be no more bluffing, because he knows exactly what it’ll take for them to sign a long-term contract. |
